I went to a medical camp thinking I was going to help people. I came back realizing how much I still had to learn. ❤️

In a far-flung village, I met people who had learned to live with pain because healthcare was too far away.

People who travelled for hours just to see a doctor.

Elderly patients who had no one to bring them for a check-up.

Children growing up in families where work often comes before school.

Patients who didn’t even know their exact date of birth—not because they didn’t care, but because life had taught them to prioritize survival over paperwork.

And perhaps the biggest lesson:

Healthcare is not truly accessible if people cannot reach it.

A hospital can have the best doctors, medicines and equipment—but what about the person living hours away who cannot afford the journey?

That day reminded me that medicine is much bigger than diagnosing a disease and writing a prescription.

Sometimes, medicine means going where the patient is.
Sometimes, it means listening.
Sometimes, it means educating.
And sometimes, it simply means showing up.

These are the lessons I could never have learned from a textbook.

A distinguished team of specialist doctors visited Zamir Ul Haq Medical Complex (ZHMC), Yugo, to observe the facilities, understand the needs of the community, and share their professional expertise.

🤝 Building Stronger Healthcare Through Collaboration | Ghanche

The Zamir Ul Haq Medical Complex (ZHMC) team visited DHQ Hospital Khaplu and had a productive meeting with the hospital administration.

We are especially thankful to the administration for taking time out of their Sunday evening at 8:00 PM to meet with our team. Despite the late hour, they generously gave their time to discuss opportunities for collaboration and improvement of healthcare services in the region. 🙏

During the meeting, we discussed:

🤝 Strengthening Healthcare Through Collaboration | Gilgit-Baltistan

The Team Zamir Ul Haq Medical Complex visited Zubaida Khaliq Memorial Hospital (ZKMH), Sermik, to learn about its healthcare services and ongoing activities across Gilgit-Baltistan.

The ZKMH administration warmly welcomed our team and shared an overview of their work, including two free healthcare services and four medical camps every day, aimed at improving access to quality healthcare for communities across the region.

The ZHMC team greatly appreciated the dedication and efforts of ZKMH in strengthening healthcare services in Gilgit-Baltistan. 🌿

The visit also provided an opportunity to discuss mutual collaboration, knowledge sharing, and a smooth referral and service-delivery system between both organizations, with a shared vision of providing safe, accessible, and high-quality medical care to the people of Gilgit-Baltistan.
