The boy who was born premature at 31 weeks, now a month plus past 9 years. Never been back to hospital after being discharged at 31 days old. The only time he had oxygen desaturation was in hospital a few days prior to being discharged, presumably after the BCG shot.
No asthma, no eczema, no allergies, no speech delay, no sensory issues.
Alhamdulillah for his health, and as a mother I feel happy that my effort to raise him by exclusively breastfeeding and focusing on real food is not in vain. That effort also includes avoiding pharmaceutical drugs, even when he gets sick. I rely on natural remedies and food-as-medicine.
He hasn't escaped the effects of the haze (compounded with a less-than-ideal diet because he is not under my constant supervision, and are having meals and access to junk food outside our home.) He has been coughing for more than a week, although it's not severe and the phleghm is loose, and he's been active(ly playing). Being homeschooled means no worries about missing school, but still, no mother likes hearing her child coughing that long.
Thankfully, though, being raised on real food has meant he is not a picky eater (or at least not as picky as some of his peers). Since being a member of the Natural Healing group, I walk the talk by using the same products I have been recommending to others.
Seen here is my boy getting excited that he's going to get a full cup of that special beverage that Ibu and Papa drinks daily, with a special extra dose of that herb dubbed as "magical and miraculous". Why did I mention him not being a picky eater? Because this combination is bitter. So bitter, many adults may struggle to consume, especially that herb in the sachet on its own.
But this boy gets excited at getting his very own cup. And I can't describe how much satisfaction it gives me as a mother, that I can help my child heal naturally, and he accepts it willingly. All these years of exposing him to real food, and educating him on what's good and what's not (even when he can't practise self-control that well yet), but at least he is already practising how to take charge and take care of his own health.
