🌏 Creating Leaders in Timor-Leste

This September, Confrère Sean Parnell, Consoeur Dr Nicole Johnson and volunteer Jayden Gilbey visited our Creating Leaders scholarship students in Timor-Leste.

They met with students, teachers and school leaders and saw firsthand the impact these scholarships are having — helping young people continue their education and pursue their hopes for the future.

Strengthening Community Health Services in Timor-Leste

Throughout September 2026, the Mobile Clinic team of Ordem de Malta conducted health services for communities in remote villages far from health facilities, including Ailele-Hun, Danau 2, Kasnafar, Rai-Mean, Temporal, Borlete, Malikeo, Same Alas, Sarin, and Ai-Tuha. Additionally, in collaboration with Comoro Clinic, the Mobile Clinic conducted the Integrated Health Program (P*S) in Fatumeta.

This initiative aims to bring quality healthcare closer to the community, serving a total of 176 general patients (59 male, 117 female), 11 Antenatal Care (ANC) consultations, 7 vaccinations, and monitoring 3 malnutrition cases among children.

Our mission is to bring good health everywhere! Many thanks to our partners and the community for their support—together we can!

100,000 consultations – and counting ❤️

A major milestone has been reached by the Order of Malta Medical Clinic in Timor-Leste.

Since opening in November 2017, the Clinic and its mobile outreach services have now provided more than 100,000 patient consultations, bringing essential healthcare to communities across Timor-Leste, including some of the country’s most remote and vulnerable areas.

In the first six months of 2026 alone, our clinical teams delivered 8,364 consultations, including 978 antenatal visits and care for 264 cases of malnutrition.

But behind every number is a person – a mother receiving antenatal care, a child being treated for malnutrition, or a family in a remote community gaining access to medical care when they need it most.

Our latest website update looks at this remarkable milestone and the plans to expand our mobile health services even further in the months ahead.
