Healthcare is not a privilege. It is a birthright.
Every human being on this continent deserves to stand in their body without fear to move, to work, to raise their children, to live with dignity. That is not charity. That is justice.
Yet across Africa, access to quality, affordable healthcare remains the single greatest determinant of who thrives and who merely survives. The gap between a hospital and a home is not measured in kilometers, it is measured in lives.
Last month, Zuri Health, powered by MTN Uganda, closed that gap in Soroti.
We didn't wait for the people to come to the system. We took telemedicine and quality healthcare access directly to their doorstep and they answered. Not in trickles. In numbers that stretched the length of conviction. Because when you remove the barriers like cost, distance and time, people show up for their own lives.
What we witnessed wasn't just a health camp. It was proof of concept: digital health in Africa works when it's built for Africans, by people who understand the terrain, the trust deficit, and the urgency.
Hundreds of smiles. Hundreds of consultations. Hundreds of lives now connected to a doctor on phone, anytime, anywhere.
This is what affordable healthcare looks like when partnership meets purpose. This is what Zuri Health by MTN stands for. And this is only the beginning because we are not stopping at Soroti. We are building a continent where no community is too far, too poor, or too forgotten to receive the care it deserves.
