DOES YOUR CHILD HAVE TYPE 2 DIABETES?
Medical researchers from Appalachian Clinical Research
are evaluating the effect of an investigational medication on blood glucose levels in children and adolescents with type 2 diabetes, to assess its efficacy and safety.

Children and adolescents 10 to 17 years of age with type 2 diabetes who are currently on a diet and exercise schedule and/or taking medications to treat diabetes may qualify.

Eligible study participants will receive study-related medical care, glucose/ketone meter and all supplies, the investigational medication (or placebo) at no cost, and compensation for study-related travel may be provided.

This clinical research study is now enrolling.

Appalachian Clinical Research is now enrolling for an Adolescent Diabetes Study.
Participants must be between the ages of 10 and 17 years of age. Treated with either diet and exercise alone or on a stable dose of medication for the treatment of diabetes.
All study related medical visits and medications provided at no cost.

Appalachian Clinical Research is now enrolling for the Luster Studies. If you or your child who is at least 12 years of age have Asthma and have had at least two episodes of worsening symptoms in the past year that required treatment, please contact us to see if you may qualify for this study, 770-769-4564. Appalachian Clinical Research would like to thank everyone who visited our booth during Harvest Fest 2016. We had a great time sharing with the community the clinical trial opportunities we support. Equally, it was our pleasure, on such a "Blustery Day", that Winnie the Pooh, Tigger and Piglet too! were able to venture out from the "Hundred Acre Woods" and spend time visiting with everyone. A special congratulations to Steven Wheat of Ranger, Georgia for winning the Vintage "Winnie the Pooh Gift Basket and $100. We hope to see everyone again next year!

Happy Birthday to us! On July 12th, 2013 Appalachian Clinical Research opened its doors. Our goal was to provide patients access to new treatments that are not yet available to the general public and provide expert medical care. We have been designated as the highest enrolling research site for one of the largest respiratory clinical trials ever conducted. We would like to express gratitude to all our wonderful patients for making these past three years an amazing experience, without you, we couldn't do what we do!!!

What's new? On January 6th ACR will begin enrollment for a new and exciting research study for individuals who have been diagnosed with Diabetes Type II. To be eligible, you must be 18 years or older, have a diagnosis of type II diabetes, taking metformin only with a hemaglobin A1C of 7.0 to 10.0. All study related medical care is provided free and you will be paid for travel and time associated for study visits. Appalachian Clinical Research is now enrolling patients for a new COPD Study:

Chronic bronchitis or emphysema -also known as Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)—is a lung disease that gets worse over time. COPD is most often caused by cigarette smoking.

Although there’s currently no cure for COPD, research is being conducted to find potential treatments to help prevent and control symptoms. A worldwide research study is now underway to test an investigational, triple therapy for COPD.

Who is eligible to participate in this study?

You may be eligible if you:

• Are 40 years of age or older
• Have a history or diagnosis of COPD
• Are a current smoker or were a smoker in the past
• Are on maintenance COPD medication for at least 3 months
