The members of CMFC would like to take a moment to thank our wonderful community for all of their support over the years, and especially the last several weeks as we all have faced these trying times.

Even though many of you have had so much to deal with, you have taken the time to make our days at the station a lot easier to endure. We feel so fortunate to be surrounded by such caring and thoughtful neighbors.

We'd like to recognize a few special people, such as the folks from The Emmanuel Trinity Lutheran Church, In10se BBQ and our neighbors for their donations of several meals and sweets. You can't imagine how much it has brought a lift to our days. Luckily we received a generous donation from Planet Fitness earlier this year of fitness equipment which has helped our members and county staff burn off some of those extra calories and keep us at the ready for the next call!

CMFC is also grateful to Tim Burns Contracting for donating their time and manpower for their quick response when our Station 28 had some storm damage from the heavy winds.

We'd like to encourage all of you to continue following the social distancing guidelines so that we can see all of you soon at one of our many events. In the interim, please consider volunteering, or supporting one of our future fundraisers. Currently we have 3 raffles, one has a grand prize of a Yeti Tundra Cooler, the second Christmas Cash in August with a chance to win $$ every night in August and our third raffle's grand prize is for a hind quarter of beef from Hemp's (or $500)!

In honor of International Firefighters’ Day we’d like to send a special THANK YOU! to all the Firefighters out there, past and present, for their many sacrifices. We’d also like to thank the many Firefighters that have served and continue to serve the Carroll Manor communities for keeping us safe! 🚨🚒👨‍🚒🧑‍🚒👩‍🚒🚒🚨

International FireFighters' Day (IFFD) - May 4 2020

Today we recognise firefighters for their extraordinary commitment, exceptional courage and for their selfless service. Tragically we also remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice. #honourandrespect

*To firefighters, and to those that support them, across the world, THANK YOU!*

********************
Please take a moment to stop, reflect on and commemorate the memory of those who are no longer with us and to celebrate the strength that is evident from being members of the firefighting family.

Why not tag a firefighter you'd like to thank or share a photo?

Mental Health Association of Frederick County

As we all continue to practice social distancing, we must not forget about our mental health during this tough time. Our friends at the Mental Health Association of Frederick County have some great suggestions and resources to help cope during this tough and stressful time.

In uncertain times like these, we’d like to reassure our community that the Mental Health Association of Frederick County is here. Navigating this incredibly stressful and anxiety-ridden situation is uncharted waters for many of us. And feeling anxiety is okay.

It is okay not to be okay.

Taking care of our mental health is essential. Stay tuned to MHA’s page for tips and methods to manage overwhelming and strong emotions, including:

1. Separate what is in your control from what is not.

2. Do what helps you feel a sense of safety.

3. Get outside in nature–even if you are avoiding crowds.

4. Challenge yourself to stay in the present.

5. Stay connected and reach out if you need more support.

We’ve seen time and time again the Frederick County community come together and support each other. We will get through this together, one day at a time.

On behalf of the leadership of Carroll Manor Fire Co., we are asking everyone to do their part and slow the curve. At this time we are asking the public to please refrain from coming to the fire stations. In an effort to ensure our operational readiness and well being of the responders we do not want to expose them to any more risks than they are already being exposed to. If you need to contact either station please contact us by phone or Facebook and we will do our best to accommodate. Adamstown station 301-600-9140 and Point of Rocks 301-600-9280.

Career Firefighters Association of Frederick County, MD Local 3666

We want to remind all our fans and citizens of Frederick County that though you might see us wearing a different looking uniform, we remain dedicated to providing the highest level of care possible.

We ask that if you are concerned about possible contraction of COVID-19, and ARE NOT in need of immediate medical care, please contact your family doctor first before 911. This will limit exposure to other citizens, first responders, and the doctors and nurses at the hospital. They’re drive up testing sites that allow you to remain isolated and limit additional exposures.

These are difficult and uncertain times. WE ARE IN THIS TOGETHER.

With cancer being prevalent with firefighters, in a effort to help reduce risk. We have placed decon tubs on all our suppression units. The purpose of these is to clean off soot and debris on the incident scene and not bring it back to the stations. Once back in quarters a more in depth cleaning can be done or gear taken to a gear washer. The tubs contain a hose, scrub brushes, soap, and antimicrobial wipes for our hands and faces.
