Bee Hive Homes of Alamogordo

Bee Hive Homes of Alamogordo At Beehive Homes you can feel comfortable that your loved one is in the best hands, safe and secure. http://beehivehomes.com/alamogordo/

There may come a point when your family or loved one needs more care than you are able to give at home. We hope it isn’t so, but if it does happen we have one of the best places for your loved one to live. Beehive Homes offers a smaller home, with 12-16 rooms, for a homier more comfortable atmosphere, yet having plenty of privacy for our residents. We have family style living with a large open dining room and living room so our residents can have plenty of contact with other residents and our caregivers.

Mission: Bee Hive Assisted living is almost exactly what it sounds like. Assisted living care offers residents that independence and freedom in a home like environment with the care and support of qualified caregivers always there to assist when needed. Bee Hive Assisted living homes , like many other homes, are designed to provide residents with assistance with basic ADLs (activities of daily living) such as dressing, bathing, grooming, laundry services, food preparation, and much more. However, Bee Hive Homes is unique in the fact that we have focused on reducing the staff to resident ratios in our homes to provide a higher level of personal service. Bee Hive Assisted living homes are not nursing homes and it should be noted that Bee Hive assisted living homes do not provide skilled nursing care services.

An old man went to the Doctor complaining that his wife could barely hear.
The Doctor suggested a test to find out the extent of the problem. “Stand far behind her and ask her a question, and then slowly move up and see how far away you are when she first responds.”

The old man excited to finally be working on a solution for the problem, runs home and sees his wife preparing supper. ” Honey” the man asks standing around 20 feet away “whats for supper?”

After receiving no response he tried it again 15 feet away, and again no response.

Then again at 10 feet away and again no response.

Finally he was 5 feet away “honey whats for supper?” She replies “For the fourth time it’s lasagna!”

Bee Hive History

BeeHive assisted living all began in 1987 when Twayne Walker built the first assisted living home in Meridian, Idaho. In response to a very limited number of quality care facilities, Twayne originally built the first BeeHive Homes assisted living home as a means to provide his grandmother with quality care in a personalized, home-like surrounding. Happy Thanksgiving from ABQ/Santa Fe

Museum Joke

“And this over here” croaked the 90 year old museum tour guide, “is a fossil 4 million and 69 years old, on it’s left you can see another fossil that’s 2 million and 69 years old.”

“Wow! That’s really fascinating,” said a fellow in the audience,
“how can you age it so accurately to the year?”

“Well that’s simple” answered the old chap,
“It was two million years old when I started working here 69 years ago.”

A note from Jay:

As Thanksgiving season approaches, I want to reflect on the blessings in my life. My first thoughts go to my family, which includes my loving wife, who has helped me make something of my life, my nine children (this makes me tired just thinking about all of my grandchildren!), and my commitment to my Heavenly Father and Christ, from whom I gather strength and hope.

I'm thankful for my BeeHive family--the administrators, house managers, and wonderful caregivers. I think of Marie in Building C, one of our memory loss homes. It can get a little crazy there, but Marie is always happy and never seems to tire of reaching out to touch our residents with compassion and love, making our residents feel secure. I'd like to speak to all of our caregivers who, on a daily basis, offer service and comfort to our residents--thank you. I appreciate the dedication and care they provide.

Thanks also to Bill Sego, who helped us attain the new administrative offices at 4811 Hardward Drive; Adrienne Rosalea, our new office manager; Triston Haddlow, our new HR manager; and our CPA Tony Collyer and his right-hand person Linda Green-Rossi. With this team we will be able to manage and make a comfortable home for our 300+ residents.

Last, but not least, I am grateful to have been entrusted with our amazing residents, who were part of a generation that built a nation of freedom so that we all may carry out our lives with hope, love, and charity. It's time to give back.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Nothing but love for you,

Jay Manning

The BeeHive Story

BeeHive assisted living all began in 1987 when Twayne Walker built the first assisted living home in Meridian, Idaho. In response to a very limited number of quality care facilities, Twayne originally built the first BeeHive Homes assisted living home as a means to provide his grandmother with quality care in a personalized, home-like surrounding. Dennis Toland recognized the void the BeeHive Homes assisted living homes could fill, and he partnered with Twayne to promote the finest quality care environment available. BeeHive Homes is dedicated to making the move to assisted living and/or memory care seamless and comfortable for its residents.

Achievements by Older People:

The name Julia Child is synonymous with culinary excellence, which is why it may be surprising to learn that in her mid-30s, Julia Child had to ask what a shallot was [source: Grimes]. The year was 1948, and she had just moved to France with her new husband. Though she didn't speak French and could barely cook, Child fell in love with French cuisine and became determined to learn how to make it herself.

Up to that point, Child had been at a loss for what to do with herself. She had vague aspirations of writing, but once noted that she attended Smith College at a time when women became either nurses or teachers [source: Schrambling]. Though much has been made of her potential espionage career, in truth, Child didn't come alive until she studied at the celebrated Cordon Bleu cooking school. "To think it has taken me 40 years to find my true passion," she once wrote to her sister-in-law [source: Mellowes].

And though she may have identified that passion, it took several more years for her hard work to pay off. It took more than a decade and several rounds of rejections before the tome that Child co-authored, "Mastering the Art of French Cooking," was published, and she didn't begin her long-running PBS program "The French Chef" until she was 51.
