A hallmark of CARD Albany programs is the integration of research, training, and practice. Staff represent many disciplines - including psychology, education, school counseling, social work, school psychology, and rehabilitation counseling - which contributes to our comprehensive understanding of autism spectrum disorders. CARD Albany serves a diverse population of families, educators, and community professionals in a 24-county region in New York State. A number of training initiatives and programs on evidence-based practice are available for families, schools, and professionals. Technical assistance and consultation is available via telephone, U.S. mail, email, and web-access to families and individuals or schools/programs serving students with ASD. CARD Albany specializes in research on topics associated with autism spectrum disorders. Project findings are disseminated through presentations at national conferences and publications in peer-reviewed journals. CARD Albany is supported by a grant from the New York State Education Department. Kristin V. Christodulu, Ph.D., Director

Mission: CARD Albany provides evidence-based training and support to family and professionals and, through ongoing research, contributes knowledge to the field of autism spectrum disorders.

Center for Autism at UAlbany - Funding Update -
Although funds allocated to the Center for Autism at UAlbany continue to be delayed, we are pleased that we can restore operation of the following programs, including distance learning, PEERS program, and our resource center, beginning November 23, 2020. Family seminars, guest lecture series, and topics in autism presentations will remain suspended at this time. We are hopeful that additional funds will soon be available to fully implement our important work of providing evidence-based autism training and support to schools, families, and community agencies.
