1. A persons secondary or alternate personality.
2. An intimate and trusted friend.
If you look up the definition of ‘Alter ego’ you will find the history of the term as well as several definitions. Personally, I like to think of the term ‘alter ego’ as the best, purest, most ideal version of myself. The one I am continuously striving to attain.
A book I’ve really been enjoying this summer is ‘Spiritual Growth, being your higher self’ by Sanaya Roman.
Chapter 16, titled ‘Enlightenment Through Service’ has some really great pearls of wisdom.
“Empowering other people means assisting them in making positive changes in their lives.”
Empowerment means loving people rather than saving them. Ask yourself,
“How does what I am doing serve this person to become more self-sufficient and independent?”
When you meet people, think of what you can contribute to them, not what you will get from them. Ask yourself,
“How can I serve them with my words or actions?”
Any time you come from your heart, speak with love, and assist people in recognizing their divinity, you shift their consciousness.
“All teaching is learning. All empowerment of others is self-empowerment.”
Hope you have the best week ever!
