(Honoring Nigel Brown) Please come out and join us this Saturday, September 11, 2021, our Youth and Young Adult Program is hosting “United in the Community Family Event” from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm outside of the Flint Riverquarium in downtown Albany (see attached flyer)! The event is themed “Calling all Superheroes” to honor Nigel Brown, who lost his life in our community.

There will be people dressed up in Superhero costume, lots of activities, vendors and tons of food for all to enjoy. In celebration of Nigel, wear your favorite Superhero t-shirt to the event! Everyone is invited to attend along with your family and friends!

Though this is an outdoor event, we do encourage everyone to use safety precautions to maximize protection from the Delta variant and prevent possibly spreading to others. People who have a condition or are taking medications that weaken their immune system may not be fully protected even if they are fully vaccinated. They should continue to take all precautions recommended for unvaccinated people, including wearing a well-fitted mask, until advised otherwise by their healthcare provider.

We truly appreciate ALL that you do in and around our community and we thank you for your support! Please spread the word and let us know how we can better serve the community together.

September is National Recovery Month! The 2021 National Recovery Month theme, “Recovery is For Everyone: Every Person, Every Family, Every Community,” reminds people in recovery and those who support them that no one is alone in the journey through recovery. Everyone's journey is different, but we are all in this together. Recovery Month will continue to educate others about substance use disorders and co-occurring disorders, the effectiveness of treatment and recovery services, and that recovery is possible.
