Healthy Vibez C*D Marks Four Years in Rose Hill—And We’re Still Here
By Riz Nasar, Owner, Healthy Vibez C*D
This October 28 marks a milestone I had iota of doubts the we’d not reach: Healthy Vibez C*D is celebrating our fourth anniversary. Four years of serving our Rose Hill neighbors, four years of navigating one of the most turbulent regulatory environments in the country, and four years of believing that natural wellness options should remain accessible to our community.
When we opened our doors in 2022, we knew h**p and C*D would be a challenging business in Virginia. What we didn’t fully anticipate was just how often the rules would change beneath our feet. Over the past four years, we have adapted to shifting guidance, new registration requirements, and evolving interpretations of what is—and isn’t—permitted on our shelves. Each time, we complied. Each time, we pivoted. Each time, we stayed open because our customers rely on us.
The most recent change has been the hardest. As of August 15, 2026, Virginia eliminated the long-standing 25:1 C*D-to-THC ratio allowance that permitted certain products to exceed the 2-milligram THC per package limit . That ratio wasn’t a loophole—it was the framework lawmakers themselves established, and it allowed responsible retailers like ours to offer products that many of our customers had come to depend on for sleep, stress relief, and everyday wellness. Overnight, inventory we had legally purchased and sold became unsellable. No grace period. No sell-through. Just a hard stop .
I won’t pretend this hasn’t been painful. Like many small h**p retailers across the Commonwealth, we’ve had to absorb losses, rethink our product mix, and explain to confused customers why their favorite tincture or gummy is no longer available . It’s frustrating to watch an industry that was built in good faith be squeezed while the state prepares to launch a separate recreational ma*****na market next year .
And I would be less than honest if I didn’t say that recent news out of Richmond has only deepened my concerns about how these decisions get made. Senator Louise Lucas—one of the co-sponsors of legislation affecting our industry—was federally indicted in October on charges including bribery and ma*****na trafficking related to a cannabis business she co-owned . The charges are allegations, and she is presumed innocent. But for those of us on the retail side who have spent years jumping through regulatory hoops, it’s hard not to wonder whether the playing field was ever level.
Despite all of this, I am not writing to complain. I am writing to say thank you.
Thank you to every neighbor who has walked through our door, asked questions, and trusted us with their wellness. Thank you to the customers who stuck with us when shelves changed and options narrowed. Thank you to the Rose Hill community for supporting a small, local, woman-owned business through four very unusual years.
We are still here. We are still committed to offering compliant, quality C*D products and honest guidance. And we are still proud to call Rose Hill home.
To celebrate our 4 years in Rose Hill, we will give you 10% off all your purchases till Thanksgiving weekend. It will give us a chance to thank the community that has kept us going.
Here’s to four years. And to whatever comes next.
