We’re so excited to introduce our FINAL panelist for The M Factor 2: Before the Pause! ✨

Meet Amy Clay, LPC, Licensed Professional Counselor and AASECT Certified S*x Therapist with more than 25 years of experience helping individuals and couples navigate relationships, intimacy, desire, and sexual health.

Amy brings such an important perspective to our conversation because we know perimenopause and menopause affect so much more than our physical bodies.

Her work supports women navigating many of the changes that can come with midlife, including:

💛 Anxiety and mood changes
💛 Irritability and rage
💛 Brain fog
💛 Depression
💛 Changes in libido and desire
💛 Intimacy and relationship challenges

Amy believes strongly in collaborative, whole-person care and regularly works alongside gynecologists, urologists, pelvic floor physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to help women get the comprehensive support they deserve.

We are SO excited to have Amy round out this incredible panel and bring the mental health, relationship, intimacy, and sexual health perspective to the conversation.

And with that… our panel is complete! 🎉 We cannot wait to get all of these women in one room and, most importantly, give YOU the opportunity to ask your questions.

✨ Meet Our Next M Factor 2 Panelist! ✨

We are so excited to introduce Stephanie Mitchell as our next panelist for The M Factor 2: Before the Pause!

Stephanie is a certified personal trainer, Gaja Collective wellness coach, meditation instructor, host of the ChangeHER podcast, and founder of the ChangeHER Community—a space dedicated to bringing women together to connect, learn, and have honest conversations about all things midlife.

Stephanie’s passion for this work is personal. In 2019, after years of training for endurance races, a doctor’s visit revealed high blood pressure. Her body was changing, and she wanted to understand why. That experience ultimately led her to a new mission: helping women understand what is happening in their bodies during midlife—with straightforward information, grace, and a little humor along the way.

Her philosophy is one we LOVE:

What you invest now in movement, sleep, nutrition, and community is compound interest for the life you want later.

And perhaps our favorite way she puts it?

✨ She wants you to be the oldest person in the gym—not the youngest person in a nursing home.

Stephanie brings such an important perspective to this panel because navigating perimenopause isn’t only about managing symptoms. It’s also about thinking about how we want to move, feel, connect, and live for decades to come.

We can’t wait for Stephanie to join this conversation and share her perspective on movement, wellness, community, and building a strong foundation for life beyond menopause. 💛

✨ Meet Our Next M Factor 2 Panelist! ✨

We are so excited to introduce Adrian Thompson, PA-C, MSCP, founder and clinical director of Vida Women’s Health, as our next panelist for The M Factor 2: Before the Pause!

With more than 20 years of experience in primary care and women’s health, Adrian is a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner who specializes in helping women navigate perimenopause, menopause, and beyond with personalized, evidence-based care.

Her expertise includes:

💛 Hormone and nonhormone therapy
💛 Medical weight management
💛 S*xual health
💛 Perimenopause and menopause care
💛 Menopause care for breast and gynecologic cancer survivors and those at increased cancer risk

A huge part of Adrian’s mission is helping to close the gaps in midlife healthcare—making conversations about menopause and hormone therapy easier to understand and ensuring women have the information they need to make confident decisions about their health.

Because women deserve more than being told their symptoms are simply something they have to live with.

We are so excited to have Adrian bring her expertise to the conversation following the film and help answer your questions about hormones, symptoms, treatment options, sexual health, and navigating this stage of life. 💛

✨ Meet Our Next M Factor 2 Panelist! ✨

We are so excited to introduce Stephanie Stahr, PT, physical therapist at Athena Wellness & Physical Therapy, as one of our panelists for The M Factor 2: Before the Pause!

Stephanie specializes in pelvic and women’s health across the lifespan and is passionate about helping women better understand their bodies and feel supported through the transitions that come with perimenopause and menopause.

Her work focuses on many of the changes women may begin to notice during midlife, including:

💛 Pelvic floor and sexual health concerns
💛 Changes in strength and mobility
💛 Joint and muscle pain
💛 Changes in exercise tolerance
💛 Staying active and strong as our bodies change

One of the messages Stephanie is especially passionate about? Just because something is common during perimenopause and menopause doesn’t mean women should simply be told to accept it as part of getting older.

Through individualized physical therapy, exercise, hands-on treatment, dry needling, and education, Stephanie helps women better understand what is happening in their bodies and find practical ways to keep doing the things they love.

We’re so excited to have Stephanie bring the physical therapy, pelvic health, and movement perspective to our conversation following the film—and help women understand just how many resources are available to support them through perimenopause, menopause, and beyond. 💛

We are so incredibly honored to have been nominated for The Chamber ALX | Supporting Businesses & Cultivating Community Best in Business Rising Star Award this year—and even more excited that Athena Wellness & Physical Therapy has been selected as a finalist! 💛

To whoever nominated us: thank you. It means more than you know to have someone in our community believe in what we are building and the care we are working to provide for women in Alexandria.

And to every patient who has trusted us with their care, every provider who has sent someone our way, every local business that has collaborated with us, and every person who has shared our name or cheered us on—thank you for being part of this journey.

It feels especially meaningful to receive this recognition as we get ready to open the doors to our first brick-and-mortar clinic in just a few short weeks. 🔑

What started as an idea for doing women’s healthcare differently is becoming a physical space of our own, and we truly would not be here without the support of this community.

Thank you!

✨ Meet Our Next M Factor 2 Panelist! ✨

We are thrilled to welcome Anita Mikkilineni, MD, OB/GYN and certified Menopause Society practitioner, to our expert panel following the screening of The M Factor 2: Before the Pause.

Dr. Mikkilineni is an OB/GYN with The GW Medical Faculty Associates and has a particular passion for menopause care, sexual health, pelvic pain, vulvar disorders, and women’s health advocacy.

In addition to caring for patients, she serves as faculty at GW’s S*xual Health and Gender Affirmation Center and is deeply involved in advancing education and advocacy surrounding women’s sexual health. She currently chairs the Advocacy Committee for the International Society for the Study of Women’s S*xual Health and serves on the medical advisory board for the She+ S*xual Health Foundation.

What we especially love about Dr. Mikkilineni’s work is her commitment to educating women about their bodies and changing the standard of care for women’s health. She is passionate about ensuring that concerns like sexual health and genito-pelvic pain are better understood and addressed within OB/GYN care.

We are so excited to have her expertise as part of this conversation and to give you the opportunity to ask your questions following the film. 💛

First up, meet our moderator, Emily, owner and CEO of Ms. Moxie’s Moon Shop in Old Town Alexandria! 💛.

Since taking ownership in 2024, she has expanded the shop into a community resource addressing health and wellness from first periods through menopause, while leading initiatives focused on menstrual equity, education, and access. At the center of all of Emily’s work is a simple idea: the subjects we have been taught not to talk about are often the ones we most need to discuss. By making those conversations easier, more inclusive, and even a little fun, she hopes to give people the information, resources, and confidence they need to better advocate for themselves and for one another.

🎬 The M Factor 2: Before the Pause
📅 Sunday, October 4
⏰ 6:00–8:30 PM

The M Factor 2: Before the Pause explores perimenopause—the symptoms women experience, potential solutions, and the real stories of women navigating this often confusing stage of life.

And the conversation won’t end when the film does.

Following the screening, we’ll host a panel discussion with local women’s health medical professionals who will dive deeper into the topics raised in the film and answer YOUR questions.

👀 Stay tuned over the next week as we introduce our panelists!

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and we’re also using this evening as an opportunity to give back to women in our own community. 💗

Half of all ticket proceeds will benefit The Breast Cancer Collective, a local nonprofit helping women in the DMV who are uninsured access breast cancer screening.

So bring your questions. Bring your girlfriends. Bring your spouse. Come learn more about what may be happening in your body—and what you can actually do about it.
