Don’t let the rain keep you from your health & fitness goals 💪🏻 Grab a deck of cards, divide in half. Each half is one set of exercises. For each set, complete the # of reps per card (example: 6 of diamonds = 6 push-ups). Once you complete set 1 (first half of deck), grab the other half deck for set 2.

“If health were like wealth, we would make getting to it a priority. If health were like wealth, we would invest in it to secure a better future. If health were like wealth, we would work hard to make sure we could pass it on to our children. If health were like wealth, we would accept that it may take extra time and effort today, but that's worth it because of the return on that investment tomorrow.” - Dr. David Katz

Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States, causing about 1 in 4 deaths. 34.2 million US adults have diabetes, and 1 in 5 of them don’t know they have it. Diabetes is the seventh leading cause of death in the United States. Diabetes is the No. 1 cause of kidney failure, lower-limb amputations, and adult blindness. 16 million Americans have COPD. 6 out of 10 Americans have a chronic disease. 4 in 10 Americans have two or more chronic diseases.

Reducing COVID-19 associated deaths means reducing and preventing chronic disease. And the good news is we already know what prevents and reduces most chronic disease...nutrition, exercise, quit smoking and alcohol in moderation. So as a nation, while we continue to protect our most vulnerable who have chronic illnesses, let’s commit to preventing and reducing chronic disease in our own lives and those we love.
