The physicians at Georgia cancer Specialists are closely monitoring the coronavirus outbreak via the CDC, the Georgia Department of Public Health and the World Health Organization. The virus and protocols around it are changing quickly and we are working to mitigate any impact on our patients, providers, and staff. We ask all patients who have a fever, symptoms of respiratory infection, or who have been exposed to a person with coronavirus, the flu or any other communicable disease, to call before coming in for their appointment. For the health and safety of our patients, we are not permitting family members or visitors in the clinics with some exceptions for those with limited mobility or special needs.

If a person you live with gets sick, they should stay separate from others. If possible, you should use an extra room or unused area and a separate bathroom. https://bit.ly/39Rl0Sf

The most important warning sign of melanoma is a new spot on the skin or a spot that’s changing in size, shape, or color. Another way is to use the ABCDE guide.

A – Asymmetry (does not match on both sides)
B – Border (irregular, ragged, notched, or blurred)
C – Color (not consistent throughout)
D – Diameter (larger than ¼ inch across)
E – Evolving (changes in size, shape, or color)

It's important to know your body and tell your doctor if you see something irregular. bit.ly/2V7wxtz

Your voice was heard! Secretary Azar and the Administration announced their new regulation related to patients’ access to lifesaving drugs and, thanks to your work, we’ve got great news for cancer patients on Medicare Part D.

Plans will not be able to deny coverage for the newest cancer drugs based solely on the price of those drugs. In addition, the new regulation will not delay current patients’ access to the cancer drugs their oncologist recommends. It also won’t require current patients to re-take drugs that didn’t work before covering the treatments they truly need.

Thank you! This is a big win for cancer patients, and it’s thanks to your work telling Secretary Azar and the administration to protect cancer patients. #CoverCancerRX
