Intermittent Fasting (IF) information seems to be all over the place lately, sometimes also called time-restricted eating. It’s very popular in all types of health, nutrition and fitness communities. Have you tried it or do you currently practice any form of IF? Typically, it’s following a 16:8 protocol, fasting for 16 hours and restricting your eating window to about 8 hours per day. If you finish eating dinner at 7pm, you wouldn’t eat until about 11am the following day. The idea is that you will eat fewer calories in that shorter window but it also really promotes lower insulin levels and more fat burning - especially when exercising while fasted. I’ve been doing it for several months and never thought I could exercise without eating. I’m shocked at how much harder I can exercise and how much more energy I have while fasted. It can be very hard to just jump right in to it, but gradually pushing back your first meal is really much easier than you think. Who’s ready to try it? I can give you an easy plan to get started.
There is good evidence that intermittent fasting can be as effective for weight loss as simply eating less. But many people find it too hard to get through the fasting interval. New research suggests that eating only during a limited part of the day is more manageable and provides significant metabo...

I haven't posted for a while!! May was such a busy month with my 21-Day Body Reset Challenge going on, my oldest graduated from elementary school, he and my daughter celebrated their 11th and 8th birthdays and then we had the usual end-of-year parties between elementary and my youngest son's preschool. I'm so glad summer is here!
I love having the kids home and no schedules to follow, but that also means I have hungry kids who like to snack all day long. I try not to buy a lot of packaged, processed foods. I keep the fridge stocked with hardboiled eggs, raw sliced veggies, fresh fruit, and healthy, homemade treats that they like, but will also offer lots of nutrition. Things like protein muffins and brownies, granola bars, smoothies, popsicles, etc. By giving them snacks made with whole food ingredients that provide protein, healthy fats and minimal amounts of sugar, I can feel good about their constant snacking and know that it is so good for their growing bodies. Do you need some new healthy snack ideas for your kids? Head on over to my website and claim your free Healthy Snacks, Healthy Kids recipe book!

Have you ever thought of hiring a health or wellness coach? Or maybe you have no idea why you would ever need one? You’re not alone! The field of health coaching is relatively new and the majority of people still don’t know the benefits of hiring one.
What does a health coach do?
1. Health coaches focus on the whole person to address specific health and wellness needs.
2 Health coaches work to find the root cause of health issues and make recommendations on specific lifestyle changes.
3. Health coaches act as an educator and cheerleader as clients begin to make better lifestyle choices.
4 Health coaches work with each person’s individual needs and goals - finding the right type of diet, exercise plan, stress management techniques, etc - and help to create a plan
5. Health coaches are there every step of the way and can help revise a plan that isn’t working.
Best of all, health coaching can be done from anywhere. Although I prefer meeting my clients face to face to get to know them, this can easily be done via FaceTime, Skype, or just over the phone.
I’d love to talk and see if my services would work for you! Message me to set up a free consultation.
What do you do when you have a 4 hour layover in Miami? WALK!
LOVE my daily Bulletproof coffee - aka fat coffee, Keto coffee, butter coffee, etc. Have you tried it? The first time I tried it a couple years ago, I put a tablespoon of butter and coconut oil in my coffee and mixed it around. It was not good, the oils just floated to the top. I finally realized you need to blend it! When it blends together, it gets all frothy on the top and tastes amazing!
Sometimes I go with the basic recipe, created by Dave Asprey, and just do coconut or MCT oil and butter, but today I was in the mood for something REALLY good. There are so many different variations you can find online, and the benefits of having the fat added to your coffee is increased energy and mental clarity. It also makes you feel full for a long time. Just keep in mind that these recipes can easily get up to 400-500 calories, that means lots of good, healthy fats that our body needs!
Here's what I made today: 18oz organic coffee, 1 Tablespoon grass-fed butter, 1 T coconut oil, 1 T Bulletproof XCT (medium-chain fatty acids, with tons of benefits, I'll post more on that later!), 1/8 tsp Pink Himalayan salt, 1/4 tsp Cinnamon, 1/4 tsp Vanilla extract, 1 T Raw Cacao Powder - YUM!!!
How do you drink your coffee? Have you tried making a Bulletproof coffee and did you like it?
What is your workout for today? Do you prefer to workout alone or with friends?
