What is cupping therapy, and what does it do? Cupping is a therapeutic technique used in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) that applies suction to the skin using specialized cups. The suction gently lifts the skin and underlying tissues rather than compressing them.
Benefits and uses of cupping

1. Relieves muscle tension and pain
Cupping may provide short-term relief from neck pain, back pain, shoulder tightness, and muscle soreness. It may help reduce the sensation of stiffness and improve comfort with movement.

2. Increases local blood flow
The suction draws blood toward the treated area and creates temporary changes in local circulation. This can contribute to the characteristic circular marks left by cupping.
