Women vs men… Pilates works for every “body”.
Men in general need to work on stretch while women typically require more upper body strength. Both, stretch and strength are part of the “ Airplane “ exercise on the Gratz Cadillac. Can you imagine hoisting your entire body weight up without the help of the spring?! Well, that’s the goal and on the highest level of proficiency absolutely doable. However , spring tension helps us to get there.

Well done Caroline and Thurn! Practice makes progress and both worked very hard on overcoming their individual weaknesses.

Women vs men in Pilates….
Men and women often require different things from their Pilates work out. Men can enhance their physical performance by focusing on stretch and women improve their fitness by focusing on strength.

Stretch + strength = improved performance for both, men and women.

As you can see in these two clips strength alone won’t allow you to hoist your entire body weight nor does flexibility alone do the trick. Both Thurn and Caroline are doing a fantastic job showcasing the “ airplane” exercise on the Cadillac. Caroline had to built up upper body strength to be able to execute this exercise so effortlessly and Thurn had to focus on flexibility in the posterior chain to do this exercise well.

Swakati on the Gratz Reformer is a highly advanced exercise for women as it requires a strong upper back/arms. While most clients need some assistance working the spring, Lynne proves that women can excel at a “ typically reserved for men” exercise. Also almost all our male clients need some type of assistance for Swakati, not so our dear Lynne!!!

Kumo’s Spa Day was a total success! Poor baby has a very bad skin condition! It took 2 hrs to get it all done. At the end I was covered in fur and had his fur stuck in my eye lashes. But what matters is that he feels so much better now after his medicated bath. Doesn’t he look spectacular?!

Dogvana Dog Grooming and Self Wash in Fontana was a fantastic experience. It’s women owned, a mother and daughter duo! Andrea has been a vet tech for many years and a dog grooming business has always been her dream! She opened Dogvana a mere 4 months ago and I can tell you it’s the best dog grooming experience I had in my 6 years doing rescue in Los Angeles. I very much recommend their services. They do dog grooming as well and have a separate dryer room and huge wash stations for people who rather do it themselves.

I had not seen this boy hold his tail up high but he did today. Look at that swag.

Kumo is available for adoption and is currently residing in Fontana. He is a very calm and affectionate boy! We recommend no other pets and kids over the age of 10 years old.

We still need more funding to cover his neuter and dental. His gofundme stands at $600. We estimate the total to be closer to $1,500 (bloodwork, vaccinations, dental, neuter).
