Thank you Karen Minton of WSB-TV for sharing the news of your breast cancer diagnosis with us along with the important message to #GetScreened. We ❤️ you and are wishing you a speedy and complete recovery.

The American Cancer Society reminds everyone, if you’re a woman 40 and older, talk to your health care professional about the breast cancer screening plan that’s best for you. Schedule your appointment today.

Although there is no guaranteed way to prevent breast cancer, ACS recommends steps you can take to help lower your risk or find the disease early, when it may be easier to treat. Staying at a healthy weight, being physically active, and limiting the amount of alcohol you drink are smart strategies to help lower your breast cancer risk.

Learn more at www.cancer.org/breastcancer

To those of you who’ve already heard about my breast cancer diagnosis, and have responded to my WSB-TV colleagues posts on social media, I give you my heartfelt thanks for your love, kind words and prayers. I feel your love. I am filled with the Holy Spirit and His peace.
Jesus never promised a life without problems. But, we do have His divine peace. In the midst of struggle, anxiety…sickness…the peace provides our strength and ability to face whatever comes our way, because we aren’t facing it alone. His Holy Spirit is within us to help us strive and survive.

I came through surgery and feel great! I’ll have results of the lymph node tests in a few days. WSB and my dear friend Linda Stouffer will share my journey with you over the next few weeks.

Ladies get your mammograms!!! My cancer could only be found by the scans. It took 6 steps to the diagnosis. If it was 60, I would have done them. So don’t delay.

Do not worry about me, nor be sad for me. Instead, go get your Mammagram’s! Be proactive about your health. And men, get your health checks too. Stay ahead of potential problems, by finding them early!

Peace be with you! Peace I give to you! I choose peace, I choose God’s love, I CHOOSE HAPPY!!

We're halfway through the month of October and we can't be more grateful to our #RealMenWearPinkATL honorees who have raised 3K, 5K or 10K in support of breast cancer research and patient programs at the American Cancer Society.

Every dollar these men raise helps the American Cancer Society save more lives from breast cancer. ACS is currently funding more than $64 million in breast cancer research grants nationwide. ACS also provides free, comprehensive information and support to those touched by breast cancer when and where they need it. And, the American Cancer Society helps people take steps to reduce their breast cancer risk or find it early, when it may be easier to treat.

Check out who's sitting atop our leaderboard as we close out this #FeelGoodFriday. Please help these dedicated community leaders reach their goal!
