🧠 Research Opportunity: The STARS Study

Researchers at the University of South Carolina are studying whether transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) combined with speech therapy may help improve language recovery for people with aphasia following a stroke.

The STARS Study (Superiority Trial of Aphasia-Focused Rehabilitation with tDCS Stimulation) includes screening, an MRI, language and naming assessments, and—if eligible—15 speech therapy sessions over 3 weeks with either real or placebo brain stimulation. Follow-up assessments are also completed after treatment.

Participants may receive up to $400 in compensation for their participation.
