Many runners think that their pain is normal, or "just a part of getting older." Because of this, many runners wait until their pain is bad enough that it is severely limiting their ability to train or race. A runner himself, Spencer is passionate about helping to keep runners on the road. Oftentimes, a small change to your training program early on can greatly reduce your risk of injury and keep you doing the things you love. Fix-It Friday is a way to support and collaborate with local runners and running stores in order to keep people healthy. Come see him Friday, Oct. 29th at West Stride Running, from 3-5:30 pm for a free assessment.

Our physical therapists recommend you set a reminder on your phone or smart speaker to STAND UP every 30-45 minutes. Stretch, refill your water glass, meditate for 5 minutes, play with your dog. The weather is finally cooling off so take a few minutes to get outside. The sun will help your mood, too, and help re-set your clock when the time changes in November.
Ask us for stretches and resetting exercises targeted to your individual needs! #PhysicalTherapy #PT

In our practice, there is no such thing as “chronic pain” (a dead-end diagnosis), just unresolved pain -- pain for which there still exists a solution, it just needs a better approach. Motion Stability works to understand (and help patients understand) the unique way bodies move and individual pain stories. These pain narratives inform our practice and help us resolve pain.

There are three main types of headaches:
1. True migraine
2. Tension-type headaches
3. Cervicogenic (unilateral pain that starts in the neck)
Tom Christ explains: Many patients THINK they have migraines but really they have tension-type or cervicogenic headaches (or all three). There is a LOT we can do to treat tension and cervicogenic headaches, including muscle release, dry needling, stretching, posture re-training and joint mobilization. We’ve helped many people decrease the frequency and severity of their headaches.

Walking can also improve your cardiovascular health, strengthen your bones, and the exposure to sunlight can be a great mood lifter. #workfromhome #WFHWednesdays #physicaltherapy

Dustin graduated from Arizona State University with his B.S. in Kinesiology in 2012 and earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy after graduating with honors(!) from Emory’s School of Medicine. He completed an orthopedic residency at Mercer University in 2017 where he is now an adjunct professor.
Dustin is known for his work with athletes, but he’s sought-after by patients of all abilities for his aptitude at finding the source of pain or movement dysfunction. He doesn’t perform rote clinical analyses; he prefers to watch his patients in motion to catch subtle movement obstacles.

Welcome to Motion Stability

Welcome to Motion Stability, home to Atlanta’s most sought-after physical therapists.People come to our practice -- and return to our practice -- because they love our physical therapists and they love that their care results in living a pain-free life.

Patients and therapists choose Motion Stability because of our quality of care and therapists -- you won’t find anything else like us in Atlanta. What makes us different? Our people. From owner Brian Yee, who wanted to create a physical therapy practice from the ground up not restricted by insurance companies or institutional policies, to our team of therapists who choose to work here because they are given the tools and support they need to practice to their full ability. We believe in taking the time to understand your whole body and how it relates to what hurts, and we work collaboratively as a tean to find evidence-based treatments that work for every patient.

Motion Stability therapists see one patient at a time at every appointment -- the ultimate in one-on-one care. You won’t find our therapists rotating between patients, assembly line style. We believe in undivided, hands-on therapy at every visit in order to get the answers and treatment needed to resolve pain and restore health efficiently and effectively.

We are Atlanta’s leading practice in treating unresolved pain, sports injuries, and surgical rehabilitation because our physical therapists are internationally trained, faculty teachers at universities, published authors, researchers, featured lecturers, and instructors across the country.
