Second vaccine completed 😎

By the powers injected into me,
I am “ Pfizer Man” 💪🏼—
able leap tall buildings without a mask ( yada , yada)

First “ flu-shots” ever..so far so good. No conspiracy in sight.

There truly was a big debate in my head.- I don’t do medicines unless absolutely necessary.
Diet, exercise and meditation are the sources of my “ super power”

We know that COVID-19 is a “novel virus” caused by a different coronavirus than those that cause the common cold. Four of the seven human coronaviruses typically cause mild to moderate illness and account for 10% to 30% of upper respiratory tract infections in adults. The other three, including SARS-CoV-2, can cause more serious respiratory illness.

Not interested in the negative narrative . More interested in protecting my family- relatives and patients- and friends, as well as, myself. Feel better about that choice.

I had a little mishap Saturday night. As you see in my pictures. So I freaked out. Then I called my friends and dentist (the best esthetic dentist ever) I knew how good he was so I drove an hour for him to fix me up. Thank God for him. He did the most amazing job. And the staff was amazing!!! Hugh Flax at Flax Dental... thank you! I love having my smile back....
Well Dr. Flax asked for our favorite lesson from a movie so here is mine. You may have seen the move "O What A Wonderful Life" starring Jimmy Stewart. It taught me an eternal lesson. So here is the background. I was 19 years old, up late around December 30, 1976, my parents went to bed and I turned on the TV and the movie was just starting. Now to set the stage, I grew up with 4 parents and 8 siblings. There were 5 originally, my parents divorced when I was 3 1/2 or so. Each Step-parent brought a child from their prior marriage and each new marriage produced a child so 5+2+2=9. Growing up was kind of like human ping pong balls. I grew up with 4 Religions between my 4 parents and classmates at private school and prep-school: Judaism, Catholicism, Congregationalism, and Christian Science. By age 19 I was so confused, I just jumbled it all together and thought "I sure hope I do more good than bad and when I die, I will go up instead of down." Then the beginning of my senior year, my 2nd best friend, Steve Miserocchi "met Jesus" on a camping trip and when he came home, he called me and I said "after all we have been through together literally since kindergarten, and now you become a Jesus freak!"? That pretty much ended our friendship most of our senior year and I was into sports mostly anyway. Then before I went off to college we got together down at the beach and I apologized for being a jerk, we laughed about old times and I asked him to give me the short version. He said something like "can I read you 4 verses?" I said sure. He read the verses and I had never heard any of them in 19 years of going to 4 religions. One thing he said stuck out. "Bill, the moment a person asks Jesus Christ into his life, all his sins he has ever committed are forgiven and forgotten by God and they receive eternal life." Well actually, that sounded just to good to be true. I mean I knew Jesus must have been somebody - after all the entire world calendar changed based upon the birth, life, death and supposed resurrection of this guy named Jesus that I had heard bits and pieces about but nothing about this born again stuff. So I go off to college, come home for the December holidays, see Steve and his brother Jeff, they share some more and now I am watching the movie all by myself. So what is the point of the movie?! Well there are a lot of points. 1st. Life is an incredible gift! Far beyond our comprehension. 2nd. We all touch thousands of lives directly or indirectly through our life either for good or for bad. 3rd. There is a God and He really loves us. I mean He really, really loves us. There are some other lessons but lets cut to the end. I am crying at the end of the movie because I want to be George Bailey, kind of the hero of the movie at the end. But there is a major problem. I have sinned my whole life, little sins and big sins, even by 19, I lied, I stole drugs from my older brother, I lusted, coveted, actually pretty much broke all the commandments except murder and adultery and if you read the New Testament standard that says is you even lust after a woman in your heart, you are guilty, if you are even angry with your brother your guilty and "Love God with all of your heart and all of your soul and all of your strength and all of your mind?!" Are you kidding me? I am not even in the universe! So as I am crying and wishing I was a much better human being than I was, all the verses and fellowship Steve had shared with me came rushing back to my mind and so I probably prayed one of the most confused prayers a human being ever prayed: "God, Lord, Jesus, Whoever, Whatever, if You are really there, I want to be forgiven of my sins and I want to live the kind of life I was made to live...." As I am crying and trying to pray, speak to whoever is listening, all of a sudden two things happened that changed my life forever. First, I felt something, not sure I can even describe it of being lighter than a feather and all of a sudden I just knew I had just been forgiven by God of every sin I had committed in the prior 19 years - gone!!! Secondly, no audible voice but a thought running through my mind, again hard for me to explain but it was along the line of "I have waited your whole life for you to open to Me in this way and I love you." All I know is I fell asleep laughing my head off, "Steve was right, Jesus is real, oh my goodness, Jesus is really alive......." A couple of months later I began reading the Bible of my own free will for the first time but NOW EVERYTHING WAS DIFFERENT! The words were jumping off the page and I was understanding them! One early verse I remember "Unless a man is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God" (John 3:3) another one after weeks of feeling God was following me everywhere now "Christ in you, the hope of glory." (Colossians 1:27b WHAT?! CHRIST IS IN ME?! All of a sudden that explained everything. The more I read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, I learned two things 1. The Bible is NOT A BOOK OF RULES AND REGULATIONS - IT IS A LOVE LETTER FROM GOD TO MAN! And man has really messed it up and created mostly man-made religions doing things you cannot even find in the Bible!!! 2. THE BIBLE IS A DIVINE REFRIGERATOR, READ A FEW VERSES PRAYERFULLY EVERY DAY AND YOU WILL GROW SPIRITUALLY BY LEAPS AND BOUNDS AND YOU WILL BEGIN A PERSONAL, INTIMATE, AFFECTIONATE RELATIONSHIP WITH THE GOD OF THE UNIVERSE, JESUS! which means Jehovah (I AM THAT I AM) become our Savior. I got so excited I asked a college professor to help sponsor me on an independent study of the entire Bible and I got an A+ on my Thesis. Now to learn the details of that, you need to email me: [email protected] So, Dr. Flax "O What A Wonderful Life", the movie, was used of God to not only teach me the most important lesson of my life, it literally changed my life forever. Love, Bill
MARCH CONTEST STORY for you to enjoy. Hi Dr. Flax, March Contest Story to share: TERRIFYING FEAR _HILARIOUS LAUGHTER (WRITTEN BY ALIZA BOLTON) A true story of terrifying fear overridden with hilarious laughter you might enjoy. Some years ago, After a visit with my Mom and brother, time was nearing midnight. I was ready to go home, but brother coaxed me into have some watermelon before I left. I especially enjoyed visiting with brother because I didn’t get see him often; but oh my, it was late and very dark outside. I was growing anxious about driving home alone. Finally we said our goodbyes, and I headed up the narrow hilly drive, onto Platt Springs Road, and East toward Highway 6. These were dark two-lane country roads back then with no street lights; nothing like our improved, four lane roads we have today. As I turned right onto Highway 6, I couldn’t help but notice how usually bright and beautiful the ‘moon” was that night. I wanted to lock my gaze on the moon, but needed to keep my eye on the road at the same time. I repeatedly kept switching my gaze back and forth from the road to the moon. I never liked driving in pure darkness and late at night alone, but the moon’s beauty and its unusual brightness seem to quell that fear. Joy welled up inside as I beheld the the moon’s beauty. Its rays that illuminated the sky seemed to fall right on my windshield. Who would believe? A short distance farther the atmosphere became eerily dark as I drove downhill into the valley we still call “Red Bank” today. The trees obscured my view of the moon and the worst of fears seem to creep into my spirit. Then, seemingly from out of nowhere, I heard the blasts of a siren and saw blue lights flashing. I wondered where he was headed. I wasn’t speeding or anything, so I kept driving. He got so close, I actually thought he was going hit my rear bumper. My flight or fight syndrome was kicking in. I thought maybe I could get to the top of the hill where there was some light, but no, he was aggressively close. I knew I had to pull over. . . , right here, . . . in this pitch-black dark valley . . . at the bottom of the hill. I was terrified. I could see nothing outside my window. The officer approached my car and ask for my license. I slipped him my license through the smallest opening of my window, barely large enough to slip it through. I could hear his voice, but couldn’t actually see the officer or his face. Normally, an officer would be carrying a big bright flashlight that would be shining in one’s face about now, but he didn’t. So fear grew more intense as he said, “Ma’am, roll down your window”. I said, “No Sir”. He said, Ma’am, “Roll down your window”. I said,” No Sir”, and a third time he said, “Ma’am roll down your window”, and I for the third time said, “No Sir”. Each time I said, “No Sir”, I became more terrified, hands shaking, my feet actually quivering over the accelerator in case have to speed off. The officer began asking me a lot of questions, like: Where have you been? Where are you going? You like to drink? Your family live around here? Where do you live? Got children? Then he said,”Ma’am, I am not here to hurt you, roll down your window', and again, I said, “No Sir”. Next thing I know, a big bright blinding flashlight beamed directly in my face from outside the window. Finally, I could see the long black arm whose hand held the flashlight. I felt absolute horror, at the prospects that he might ask me to get out of the car to walk a straight line or do a breathalyzer test. I pretended to display calm; but still had my foot hovering over gas pedal just in case . . . . , Yes I would’ve! Then the officer said, ' Well I’ve talked to you long enough to know you are not drunk, so what were you doing running off the road back there?" I’m thinking, nothing like the truth, right? but will he believe. . .the truth? "Well, . . . , I was looking at the moon” I said. The officer instantly thrust himself around 180 degrees, leaning backward on my car, with his head tilted upward to the sky and said in a loud intuitive manner, “Well, Where is the moon!?’ You can’t see it here at the bottom of this hill, but you could see it back there. The trees hide it here, but it was unusual and exceptionally bright. I just had to keep looking at it,” I said. As he slipped my license back to me through the tiny opening in the window he said emphatically, “Well, I am going to let you go, but from now on, . . do your “moon watching” somewhere else”. With a sigh of relieve, I said, Thank You”. I returned my license to the glove compartment, while glancing backward to be sure he got in his vehicle. I waited for him to leave first because I didn’t want him following me. With my foot still quivering, I slowly pulled away and headed up the hill, my mind processing what had just happened. Suddenly, I burst out laughing. I just couldn’t stop laughing, rethinking how he so trustingly turned his back on his DUI suspect, thrusting his head back to see the moon; and the tone of his voice when he said, “Well, where is the moon”?. It was as if he really wanted to see the moon too! So, funny, I just could not stop laughing. In fact, I laughed all the way home, and still laugh about it today. Terrifying experience, but funny. I Thought, “Well, I guess he’ll have a funny story to tell his grandkids someday about stopping a swerving lady driver he thought to be DUI, but was actually….well, … “Moon Watching.” He, like me, probably laughed all the way home that night. Emm-m-m, bet he spent the rest of his shift searching for that unusual celestial beauty! Wonder if he swerved too? Emm-m-m, “Moon Watching”. Still laughing!
