NaProtechnology gets to the root of the problem and therefore is very effective at treating infertility!

We spent three years struggling to find answers and hope for our infertility. Some doctors dismissed our concerns and tried to work around our problems instead of understanding them. Eventually, we found practitioners and doctors trained in NaPro Technology. The Institute-trained NaPro team treated us completely differently and worked to restore our natural fertility. Thanks to them, despite severe male and female infertility factors, we conceived naturally and were blessed with a son. Now, our family is growing again thanks to our Institute-trained surgeon, Dr. Puthoff in St. Louis. We hope you will join us today as we support the Institute.

Hormone 'can reduce miscarriage chances'

It's not usually just the progesterone but I've certainly seen it be a big factor. I hope there is more research following this study.

Giving progesterone could to some women with early bleeding could save babies' lives, research suggests.

As I sat nursing my 2 week old baby in her perfectly decorated living room, the smells of warm banana bread floated from the kitchen. “Would you like a piece?” she questioned, “I thought I’d do some baking while the baby napped.”

Short-term and long-term effects of caesarean section on the health of women and children

"There is emerging evidence that babies born by CS have different hormonal, physical, bacterial, and medical exposures, and that these exposures can subtly alter neonatal physiology. Short-term risks of CS include altered immune development, an increased likelihood of allergy, atopy, and asthma, and reduced intestinal gut microbiome diversity. The persistence of these risks into later life is less well investigated, although an association between CS use and greater incidence of late childhood obesity and asthma are frequently reported. "

A caesarean section (CS) can be a life-saving intervention when medically indicated, but this procedure can also lead to short-term and long-term health effects for women and children. Given the increasing use of CS, particularly without medical indication, an increased understanding of its health e...

Diamine oxidase (DAO) supplement reduces headache in episodic migraine patients with DAO deficiency: A randomized double-blind trial. - PubMed - NCBI

Interesting study: "One month of DAO supplementation has demonstrated a positive trend in the improvement of migraine but more studies with a longer treatment period are needed to better assess the efficacy of DAO supplementation."
We know that a drop in progesterone can lead to increase in neuroedema leading to premenstrual headaches but interestingly DAO also drops the week before your period. DAO could potentially be a player in pre-menstrual migraine etiology.

Healthy Singleton Pregnancies from Restorative Reproductive Medicine (RRM) after failed IVF

Restorative reproductive medicine works and it's cheaper and better for you!!!!
"Patients who have already tried IVF can achieve comparable live birth outcomes with RRM compared to another cycle of IVF. RRM has a low risk of twin or multiple births, and very good neonatal outcomes with predicted cost savings to the health care system."

"How have I never heard about this before?" I hear this ALL the time. Women ARE interested. They are fearful of the risks of hormonal contraception and intuitively don't think sticking a foreign object in their uterus sounds like a good idea. All medical providers should have a working knowledge of FABM's and at least have a conversation with their patients. I think they will be surprised how many women are curious and will want more information. That's when you send them to the professionals!

One of the most common obstacles we get from physicians when we come to educate them about the science of fertility awareness is, "That's great, but are women even interested in this?"

The answer is a resounding YES.

Not only are women interested in this information, but the private sector has already identified this and been investing tremendous amounts of money in the FemTech sector since 2009.

In fact, over $1.1 billion has been invested in FemTech, or Female Technology, which includes fertility awareness apps and tracking devices. This is a huge area for growth and interest due to the preventative health care aspect that charting provides.

So jump on board, physicians, and learn about what investors have already identified as a promising field: Fertility Awareness!

Fertility Appreciation Collaborative to Teach the Science - FACTS

Its Fertility FACT Friday!

Charting your cycle can put you more in tune to the changes in your body.

In a 2017 survey of almost 2000 women, 95% of them stated that the use of fertility awareness based methods (FABMs) allowed them to understand their body better [1].

Learning an FABM can help women understand what those changes mean. If women can learn the habit of charting, we can empower them to actively pursue other positive, healthful changes in their lives.

Help your patients learn about charting through the tools at http://ow.ly/ojpY50hr4GH

Great advice from Dr. K on pelvic pain in adolescence!

"I believe that hormonal suppression can mask the progression of the disease which can affect future fertility. Instead, I would prefer that she has a consultation with an integrative medicine specialist to see how her body's inflammatory load can be reduced through personalized diet, supplements, etc. Hopefully with reduced inflammation, pain is reduced as well. I do feel, however, that the most effective way to reduce inflammation caused by endometriosis is to completely remove the lesions themselves."

I cannot count the number of clients we've had that have been on hormonal suppression since their teenage years due to pain. Sadly, they end up in our office with years of infertility and profound endometriosis. Getting to the root of the problem either medically, surgically, or both is a much better approach!

Dr. K answers a question about pelvic pain and birth control pills for a young woman of 13. Do you have a question? Ask it here! http://thecrrs.com/faq/

Endometriosis News

This is an interesting article and theory. Disclaimer I have not read the full paper.

A new concept called the bacterial contamination hypothesis in #endometriosis has been proposed for the first time by researchers in Japan.
This means that new potential therapies approaches could exist for this condition in addition to the conventional estrogen-suppressing therapies.
