Get your kindling, it’s time to ignite this week on fire with some #MondayMotivation!!

What does your morning typically look like? Are you a morning person? There’s typically 2 responses I get when I ask this question – a resounding “YES” or an “ughh… NO!” You may think this is just “how you are,” that it’s maybe genetic or something. But the habits you create to start your day may have more to do with whether you can enjoy the time or dread it.

Here’s 8 tips to improve your morning routine to create more MOMENTUM going into it:

1. Set your alarm so that you’ll have plenty of time to get yourself ready, PLUS at least 20-30 minutes.

2. Don’t hit the snooze button (I know, I know… but just try it for a week – or even a day and see how you feel).

3. Avoid looking at your phone right away upon rising (especially email, work stuff, and other things that are likely to stress you out right away).

4. Spend your first 10-20 minutes in thought and reflection – whether this be prayer, reading, gratitude journaling, meditation, light stretching or something to start you in a positive state of mind.

5. Drink a full glass 8 oz.+ of water. Your body is dehydrated after your night of sleep. This will start your metabolism and rehydrate you. During the day, one way your body will let you know that it’s dehydrated is by slowing down, leaving you feeling tired and drained. Avoid this by starting your day off with water and continuing to drink half your body weight in ounces EVERY. SINGLE. DAY!

6. Review your calendar and to-do list for the day.

7. Get in an early morning workout, stretch or walk to start your day on an endorphin high.

8. Eat a good breakfast.

Why PTO is not enough during the pandemic

Burnout and stress levels are sky-rocketing for not only people working remote but ALSO those who have gone back to working in-person and are putting in longer work hours. Here's why personal time off (PTO) should NOT be passed over as the world begins to reopen >> https://bit.ly/3mBHkGC

Instead of passing off paid time off as an optional activity, think of it as a new cornerstone to remote work.
