Six years ago, I started Gorejus Inc. with a simple belief: the people doing the hardest work in education deserve leaders, systems, and support that are as brave as they are.
Today, I'm celebrating six years of that work.
What began as an idea has grown into a consulting practice spanning leadership, communications, and wellness. We've partnered with organizations like the Gates Foundation and the Washington State Charter School Commission, facilitated with The Collective, coached school leaders, and led wellness retreats around the world through Gorejus Fitness.
And I've done it alongside my role as National Vice President of Selection at Teach For America, where I get to help shape who stands in front of our students every day.
People sometimes ask how the two fit together. For me, they're the same mission from two angles. At TFA, I think about who we bring into this work. At Gorejus, I think about how we sustain, grow, and care for the people already in it. Both come back to the question at the heart of my dissertation: what does it take to close the gaps our systems keep creating?
To every client, collaborator, retreat guest, student, and friend who has trusted me along the way: thank you. Six years in, I'm more convinced than ever that equity work and well-being work are not separate. They are the work.
Here's to what's next. 💛
