Hello Unimedlink supporters and follwers.

By now you likely have seen the news about Kenya's first, imported case of Ebola

We have made the difficult but necessary decision to postpone our medical mission to Kenya.

Our personal risk of infection was exceedingly low however, there was a great deal of uncertainty about travel, particular upon leaving Kenya and returning to the US.
Also our Kenya cpartners conversation with Ministry of Health in the two counties where we were to hold our camps indicated local healthcare facilities are currently pivoting to training and education in infection control.
We wanted to avoid placing any additional administrative or logistical strain on our Kenyan partners.

We had a fantastic volunteer medical group with flights and hotels booked and some have incurred expenses related to cancellations. Planned were 2 large, well organized events plus a smaller more remote camp
Stay tuned for our rescheduling of the trip , probably early next year.
Than you for your ongoing support of all we do.

Today, upon invitation from Kaiser Roseville ,Unimedlink gave a presentation at Schwartz Rounds about volunteering in small villages in developing countries. Our panel was comprised of veterans of many trips to those who have only been on one trip. A nice mix and some very thoughtful and compassionate insights as to what we do. Many thanks to our host and moderator Dr Chaudhry( in the blue scrubs)
