Health and fitness have always been a passion for Veeta and she loves to teach people how to be the best versions of themselves through proper nutrition and personalized exercise. Her science driven approach to nutrition, fitness, health began in her 13 years of service as an United States Army Combat Veteran. As a Dietitian and trainer, she helped Soldiers meet the Army’s standards of physical fitness at numerous duty stations in the continental United States and abroad. In addition to numerous military certifications, she studied Nutrition and Dietetics at Barton County Community College and later transferred to Kansas State University. With years of experience under her belt, She uses drive, determination and knowledge to make a difference in the lives of many. Customized coaching and nutrition with 4 weight lifting days per week and ZERO cardio. She's consuming over 2,000 calories and 740 of them are from carbs a day. Why do I emphasize carbs? Because carbs aren't bad for you and they ONLY make you gain weight when you eat more than your body needs. If you don't know how many you need, fix that problem before jumping on the low carb and keto trends.

💥STARTING your fitness routine back up after quarantine? Important tip!💥

👉🏾START SLOWLY – LISTEN TO YOUR BODY – and then GRADUALLY INCREASE the length and/or intensity of your workouts.

🏋🏾‍♂‍🤾🏾‍♀‍It can be SO TEMPTING to go hard when you first (re)start working out because you’re inspired and motivated.

➡ But here’s something to know! When people started working out after taking a break due to the lockdown earlier this year, doctors saw an uptick in the number of injuries!

💡Recommendations: Start at 50% of what you used to do (whether it’s cardio or strength training), and very slowly build back up. Your muscles, joints, and tendons will be very grateful!

💡While cardio workouts – walking, biking, jogging, cardio classes – are important for your health and overall fitness, resistance training also offers huge benefits that you don’t want to miss out on!

💪🏾It can help you become stronger in ALL of your daily activities – including your cardio workouts! – and make it easier to stay active.

🧡It’s linked with a number of health benefits, from improved flexibility and balance to stronger bones and reduced risk of health problems like heart disease and type 2 diabetes.

💪🏾🏋🏾‍♂‍For best results, do 2-3 total bodyweight workouts a week in addition to cardio workouts (if you’re doing those separately)!

AVOCADO AND COTTAGE CHEESE TOAST

Serves 4
What You Need:
2 slices bread, toasted
1 cup (200g) cottage cheese
¼ avocado, sliced
1 tomato, sliced
1 tsp. sesame seeds, toasted
chili powder

What You Need To Do:
Toast the bread to your liking.

Spread the cottage cheese over the toast, top with sliced tomato and avocado. Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds, and season with salt and pepper to taste.

💥Here’s a common-sense, old-school food craving tip that works!!! 💥

👉🏾Just because you have a craving, doesn’t mean you have to give up on your goals… you can use these tips to have the BEST of both!

🍽CRAVING PASTA? → try the fiber/protein-rich varieties made out of lentils or chickpeas (these are surprisingly filling!!!!).

👩🏾‍🍳OR, use spiralized veggie noodles – they are literally everywhere now in the grocery stores, fresh and frozen. Tip: try using zucchini or eggplant slices in your lasagna.

🍓CRAVING ICE CREAM? → try whipping up a frozen dessert bowl with 1 cup frozen berries and ¼ to ½ cup of your favorite milk. Blend in ½ scoop of your favorite protein powder for more oomph!

💯😁It seems so simple but small changes like these that can add up to big results in building a healthy lifestyle!

BLACK BEAN OMELET

Nutrition per serving:
384 kcal
23g Fats

Serves 4
What You Need:
For the salsa:
1 tomato, diced
½ small onion, diced
½ lime, juice only
handful coriander, chopped

For the omelet:
1 can (14 oz./400g) black beans, drained
1 lime, juiced
¼ tsp. cumin
hot sauce, to taste
1 tsp. olive oil
8 eggs
½ cup (75g) feta, crumbled
1 avocado, sliced
What You Need To Do:
To make the salsa:
Combine all of the salsa ingredients in a bowl, season to taste with salt and pepper, and mix well. Set aside until needed.

To make the omelet:
Pulse the black beans, lime juice, cumin, and a few drops of hot sauce in a food processor until it has the consistency of refried beans.

Heat ½ teaspoon of oil in a small non-stick pan over medium heat. Crack two eggs into a bowl and beat with a bit of salt and pepper.

Add the eggs to the pan, then use a spatula to lift the cooked egg on the bottom to allow the raw egg to slide under.

When the eggs have set, place the omelet on a plate and spoon a quarter of the black bean mixture and 2 tablespoons feta down the middle of the omelet.

Fold the edges over the center, top with ¼ of the salsa, and a few avocado slices.

Repeat with the remaining ingredients to make four omelets.

SWEET POTATO BBQ CHICKEN PIZZA

Serves 4
What You Need:
4 sweet potatoes, peeled and chopped
1 ½ cups (150g) oat flour
1 egg
¼ tsp. sea salt
4 tbsp. tomato paste
4 tbsp. barbecue sauce
8 oz. (230g) chicken breast, cooked
1 small red onion, sliced
1 red bell pepper, sliced
1 cup (100g) cheddar cheese, grated

What You Need To Do:
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.

Cook the sweet potatoes until very tender when pierced with a fork; 8–10 minutes. Alternatively, microwave in a bowl with ¼ cup water, covered, until tender; for 5 minutes. Drain. Transfer to a large bowl and mash until completely smooth. Set aside and let cool in room temperature.

Add in the flour, eggs, salt, and stir to combine. Place the mixture on the prepared baking sheet and spread it into a 12x10x½-inch (30cmx27cm) rectangle. Bake until the base is dry to the touch and beginning to brown on the edges; about 25 minutes.

Spread the tomato paste and barbecue sauce evenly on the pizza base. Place chicken, onions, and bell pepper evenly on the top and bake for 10 minutes. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with cheese. Continue baking until the cheese is bubbly; about 10 minutes. Cut into squares and serve.

I know it seems weird but … ⁠

😲Scientists say non-caloric sweeteners can change how sensitive your taste buds are to sweetness. Some of them are 200 to 20,000 times sweetener than actual sugar!!!⁠

👉🏾Over time, this can cause you to crave even MORE sugar.⁠

How many times have you changed your diet or workout program in the last year? If you're like most people, probably a lot. Like every month or even every few weeks. And that's not counting all the weeks where you throw your hands in the air and give up altogether, because you're discouraged that nothing is working. I get it. These cycles of ups and downs can feel constant and very frustrating.⁠

To break the cycle, you NEED to commit to a plan. One that works for you. Is sustainable. Enjoyable. A simple program that includes all the essentials to sculpt and build your best body. Hi fitness fam! If you guys haven’t attended Veeta Dinkins Nutrition Workshop, you really need to! It was very enlightening! What I thought I knew, I really didn’t. Veeta explained nutrition in the simplest form so that it’s understandable. The environment was welcoming allowing everyone to ask questions without feeling embarrassed..especially questions that you may think is a dumb question. I had an awesome, fun learning experience!
