October 15

It never stops. It’s not like we are ever all the way healed from everything that’s ever happened. It would be really nice, but there’s always the next thing brought to us by world events, gravity, sharp objects, mean people, or the Easter bunny.

Is the compost ever finished? Sure, but if we keep adding stuff to it, we have to have a couple or a few different sections. We’ve gotta have the area that is brand new and just breaking down and then we’ve gotta have those areas which have been digesting for a long time.

It’s those ones that we’ve been digesting for a long time that are really needing our attention right now. Yes, there have been some major things of late. Yes, there is no denying that those things are really important, but with Pluto stationing direct today, or this year it’s your birthday, we’re looking to really work the last vestiges of some old things that have been going on for a while. Maybe even the last year. Maybe even this whole past lifetime.

That’s so awesome! Think about all of the power that can be released. Think about all of the healing that can happen when we’re ready to finally move forward with some of these things that have been vexing us for quite some time.

So what is it? Chances are, and here’s the punchline, that it’s reflected in some of the stuff that’s currently happening! Ha ha ha! Yep. That’s how it works. Little spirals and circles. But it’s up. We need to heal it. We must heal it. So let’s do what we can to work the crap. I know I talk about it a lot. I know I do it myself a lot. But this is Pluto direct. The power and the healing that can be released when we keep working it consciously.

It’s up. Ask it a lot questions. Consider what needs to be done with it moving forward, and all will be well.

Today’s post is brought to us by Pluto stationing direct.

The gardening calendar says to go for a hike instead.

The Space Calendar shows nothing significant, but do take time to gaze at the stars.

Sharing yesterday’s CSA post because its message is relevant all week. Bring consciousness and compassion to what rises from your inner underworld.

Since we are talking about a Scorpio Moon, I might as well let y’all know that Pluto stations direct on Thursday. We can talk about Venus retrograde in Scorpio, sure. I can go there all day. That’s for another month. Then some shadow action. Do you wanna talk about Mercury retrograde? I eat that for breakfast. But guess what? Pluto retrograde is where we talk about our personal descent to our underworld and our regurgitation, transmutation, digestion, metamorphosis, and ultimate transcendence through and of what we find down there, but not without certain levels of extrication, exorcism, explosion, intensity, repugnance, and transmogrification, with plenty of feelings that I would just rather not get into, but you know.

That place. That’s where we put all that crap that nobody ever wants to talk about, that we never wanna deal with, that always shows up at the least appropriate times, and does so in order to painfully or passionately come to greater consciousness of the ancient wounds and shadows and how we deal with them and what we can do about them and where to work them and what can come from them and what to do with all of the bu****it, grossness, pain, and wretchedness that might be left in its wake from ourselves or others, not to mention, culture, politics, economy, society, and all those other fun things.

But other than that, how are you doing? Would you like a slice of blueberry pie to go with that cup of coffee I just poured?

Now, what was I saying? Oh yes, Dear…

And then, what happens when we bring the air of consciousness and the water of emotion down into the compost pile of all of this bu****it, grossness, pain, and wretchedness? We experience all of that again and again and again until we integrate it into our being as part of this crazy messed up three-dimensional human experience, where all we are really trying to do is find our greatest happiness, but often find ourselves operating in a world, full of bu****it, grossness, pain, and wretchedness

So, with Pluto stationing direct, maybe we can integrate the fact that we all are operating in our own humanness amid a bunch of other crazy messed up humans operating in their own humanness and maybe we can find within ourselves whatever redemption we can possibly find and step into a more individuated form where we are remembering that the only answer to the mystery of the Universe is that ha ha ha, and since you are here, how can you be the most beautiful, loving, happy, radiant, being that there possibly can be and from that, express into the world your own unique and beautiful and crazy and funky, and no one has to understand it to make sense, kind of music into the world.

And maybe, if we can integrate that deep, sonorous, soulful, painful, treacherous, bu****it, gross, and wretched part of ourselves into whatever it is we are doing and being, then nobody has to know about it, but we live more authentically and more passionately, more humbly and empathetically and more purposely exactly who we have to be, because Pluto says death exists, so make the most of this life, mo-fo. And he says that because he loves you.

So for today, and this year, it’s your birthday, this week if you are a human and, frankly for the rest of your life, if you are interested at all in reading this, listen to your loving Lord of the underworld, who says to celebrate the beauty and magic of this life and contribute your song into the grand orchestral Symphony. Throw a little more air and water into the compost, work it thoroughly in the bin that you built for it, and all will be well.

Today’s post is brought to us by a Scorpio moon triggering everything with Pluto just sitting there before apparently moving direct on Thursday

The Gardening calendar says to pick or purchase flowers and set them on your table so that they’re there when you come back from working the compost.

The space calendar says to keep looking for stars to wish upon.

October 9

I thought I'd pass this on this morning for contemplation going into it.....

New Libra Moon 26

Oct 10, 10:49am CDT

Sun and Moon sextile Jupiter, opposite Saturn

Venus retrograde in Scorpio, conjoined Mercury, t-square Pluto and Mars, quincunx Uranus.

We like to think that relationship is about the other person. But that’s not the way holograms work! Everything that exists in this Universe is a projection or a reflection of something that occurs within or through us. The external world? That’s just a projection of our internal world. Relationships? They’re just a mirror for ourselves.

I know we’ve all heard that before, but it doesn’t change the fact that I have a complicated relationship with the telephone when it rings while I am in the bathtub. It doesn’t change the fact that the dude mowing his lawn happens to coincide with my personal quiet reflective time resulting in a perturbation in my peace. It doesn’t change the fact that my attachment style and your attachment style like to dance the jitterbug, and not in a fun way. So I’m a telephone, a lawnmower, and something called harsh names? The current administration, war in the Middle East, environmental destruction, and the Easter bunny of nightmares are all aspects of myself? Not a chance.

But they are. They are the results of fear, grief, and rage. Every single one of us experiences fear, sorrow, and anger in various forms and expressed in various ways. Anything in the external can be found as an archetypal expression within us. We might not want to admit that we have any tendencies even remotely close to those of the shadow elements in this world, but all of those shadows stem from fear, and we all experience that, at least, from time to time.

So when I talk relationships, a common keyword with the season of Libra, I’m not talking necessarily about the importance of diplomacy and kindness. I like to go significantly deeper and talk about the holographic Universe. WHY are we to express diplomacy and kindness?

Because we need to be it.

If the external is a projection of the internal then the answer is in treating ourselves exactly how we would like to be treated. The answer is in forgiving aspects of the world we would wish the world would forgive in us. The answer is in finding peace within if we are to have any chance of finding peace without. The answer in Libra is not in attempting to change the world until we successfully change ourselves. We can’t find peace in the external until we create peace in the internal. We cannot love another until we love ourselves.

With this New Moon, as the external rages in tumult, as ancient pains arise and fall and rise again, as the challenge and chaos and craziness seeps into every crevasse of our lives like cold winter winds up an untucked shirt, we must find an internal peace, an internal calm, and an internal ability to regulate our nervous system. What can we do to create that? Love ourselves impeccably.

All of the ancient stuff has arisen into our awareness. All of our shadows have arisen into the world. We change the world by changing ourselves. We find peace in the world by finding peace within. Set the intention to find that peace. Breathe, connect with Nature, and behold and engage what is beautiful and calming. Ride the waves of change with knees bent and body flexible and balanced. Be within what you’d like to see without, and all will be well.

Perhaps I'll post this again tomorrow.

Otherwise, there's plenty of opportunities to practice this, especially if it's your birthday.

The gardening calendar says to pick lilacs if they got that blight which kills them and rebirths them in the autumn.

The space calendar shows a New Moon tomorrow.

October 8

For today, and this year, if it’s your birthday, finish things up. Find time for peace, reflection, and restoration. There could be craziness and adjustments, confusion and engagement, and exploration and hibernation that all want to occur. It’s our job to breathe through it all.

The bottom line is to take it easy today while getting things done. Be as reflective and considerate as possible as we engage and complete whatever is asked of us. Breathe deeply. Remember the sacred. Remember that it’s all shadows on the wall, and all will be well.

October 5

For today, and this year if it’s your birthday, it’s our job to begin to disentangle these different parts of us that feel the craziness, the beauty, the terror, the exaltation, the treachery, the liberation, the confusion, the anxiety, the inspiration, the rage, the fear, and the glory from one another.

We have our mind, our heart, our intuition, our suggestions from friends, the memes and short clips we see on social media, our family, Spirit, and Nature, all talking to us on various levels and from different angles all at the same time. What’s most important? What do we listen to? What is the truth?

That last question is actually the most important because it helps to bring context and clarity to the craziness, the beauty, the terror, the exhalation, the treachery, the liberation, the confusion, the anxiety, the inspiration, the rage, the fear, and the glory.

But truth, and a nickel might not get us a cup of coffee. The truth hurts. Truth might be a matter of perspective, but truth, when tested, is still true. So we must open and listen to the various perspectives of our mind, our heart, our intuition, our friends, our family, Spirit, Nature, and other means of obtaining information. We must sift through all of them and find where their threads connect. If something is true for us, it must make sense in our mind, feel right in our heart, be resonant with our intuition, be reflected by our friends and our family, get a nod from Spirit and see it percolate up in Nature, not to mention synchronicity from other forms of information.

Open to the best of all possible paths, avenues, and directions. Let’s do what we can to disentangle ourselves from all of our various voices and perceptions and see this world for what it is, a great big school, a great big game, and an even greater opportunity to bring more love and light into whatever the heck it actually is. Move towards the joy, the lightness, and the freedom, even if our feet feel heavy, and all will be well.

Today’s post is brought to us by things I’m going to be talking about tomorrow as well, Mercury in Scorpio conjoining a retrograde Venus.

The gardening calendar says to harvest.

On Venus Retrograde...

October 3

As of 2:15 AM central this morning, Venus went retrograde.

Some folks think that it’s just Mercury. No, silly, every planet, besides the Sun and the Moon, retrograde.

A retrograde is an apparent backward motion of a planet.

But an interesting thing about Venus retrograde is that she does actually move from being seen as the Evening Star to being seen as the Morning Star. This represents the descent of Inanna into the underworld and her rising reborn in the morning before the Sun. At this time, she is descending into the underworld in order to be reborn again in later November after she stations direct on November 13th.

During this time, we will also see Venus‘s inferior (retrograde and in between us and the Sun) conjunction with the Sun. This is what some people will call a Venus Star Point. The synodic cycle of Venus is 584 days. About every 19 months, there is an inferior conjunction of Venus with the Sun. Each inferior conjunction is approximately 144° behind the previous inferior conjunction. When we map them out, we will see that after eight years or so, a pentagram has formed in the sky (or on the piece of paper where we marked those conjunctions). This is why we associate the pentagram with Venus and the Goddess. ( This is why we question the inverted pentagram when used in symbology which would mean control of the Goddess.)

The inferior conjunction of Venus with the Sun is October 24 of this year. This will be the fourth out of five points in a series which began January 2022 and completes the Star at its next retrograde conjunction in June 2028. Here is the sequence of the current Venus Star we are in….
Jan 2022: 18° Capricorn
Aug 2023: 20° Leo
Mar 2025: 2° Aries
Oct 2026: 0° Scorpio
Jun 2028: ~11° Gemini (closes the pentagram)
Do any of those dates look familiar? Do any of those placements look curiously related to placements in your own chart? If so, this Star is for you. Your own Venus Star pattern begins at the closest inferior conjunction of Venus before your birth. We can always play that game in a reading…
But what does it all mean?
Venus retrograding in Scorpio is our own descent into our own darkness, shadows, and woundedness regarding relationship with ourselves, other people, and the world. Ultimately, it signifies a review, solidification, and rebirth of our values, our needs, and our desires. Some things may simply not be good for us and must be discarded. Other things are absolutely wonderful for us and must be cherished at all costs. We are undergoing that review process between now and November 13 when she, and Mercury coincidentally, station direct.
During this time, relationship, self love, and career may be, at the very least, up for review. At the most, this could be a major turning point in our lives where we no longer tolerate things that do not serve our growth, our happiness, our value system, or our self love.
For some of us, especially those who have points or planets near this current Venus pentagram, we are experiencing epochal shifts in these realms. The intention is that we emerge later in November/December reborn with greater growth potential, more solid values, and reclaimed happiness and self love.
That sounds great!
But first, Venus Hesperus must descend into hell before she emerges as Venus Phosphorus, the light bringer, or in Latin, Venus Lucifer.
So for today, and this year, if it’s your birthday, as we descend into our depths, let us do so willingly with the intention of healing, cleansing, grounding, and reestablishing healthy values, self-worth, self-love. And from that, healthy relationships with others, our career, and the world may emerge.
“Many of us still fear the darkness, even though candles and Christianity have been created”.-Thoreau
Don’t fear the darkness. It is where we are remade, transformed, and reborn. Get out the shovel or pitchfork. Take it to the pile of our pain, our fear, our grief, and our rage. Dig into it with the piercing point of consciousness. Lift up the crap with courage and strength. Turn it over, allowing the air of consciousness and the moisture of emotion to blend with it. Then let go of the shovel of crap letting it fall into a new place in the pile. Repeat that process again and again until the compost pile of our woundedness has been deeply worked. Take a step back and allow the unconscious processes to digest the pain, fear, grief, and rage. Then go back and repeat the process at the end of October. It will be more digested in November and by December we will see her clearly rising and we will see ourselves clearly rising, reborn. Do not fear the descent, and all will be well.

Today’s post was brought to us by Venus stationing retrograde earlier this morning.

The gardening calendar says to turn the freaking compost. Or if you have some, to make some tea and apply it to the crops that need it.

The space calendar says to do your best to watch the movements of Venus after sunset for the next few weeks.

October 2

Do you remember being born? Now that I think about it, it’s not exactly like that. Nor is it exactly like it’s opposite, but if we consider being born, we go through the ring of fire. While we have perhaps experienced intensity when that occurred, it could’ve been pretty hard-core for the mother as well! So I’m not sure if the feeling of the burn is that we are the proverbial child or we are the proverbial Mother. Maybe we’re both. Maybe we’re neither. But something is happening and it’s really important that we stay present for it.

But staying present sure is a challenge when dancing in the fire. Staying present sure is a challenge when frustration, rage, anger, friction, and pain enter the picture. Staying present sure is a challenge when the world seems like it’s on fire and full of frustration, rage, anger, friction, and pain. We must tread very lightly.

The complexity of aspects happening today and over the weekend is enormous. It’s another one of those things I’ve been looking at for quite some time. I’m doing my best to hold it tenderly and lovingly, doing my best to not project fear onto it, but that’s part of what happens when Mercury is in a T square with a Mars/Pluto opposition, while Venus stations retrograde and the Sun opposes Saturn.

It’s a lot. It’s enormous. I can’t claim to know what’s going on in your life. I’m not gonna go into what’s going on in mine right now! But these aspects are so incredibly intense, so volatile, so hard-core that it may feel as if we are balancing on a tight rope, crossing the chasm of our fears, our grief, and our rage. Our consciousness and awareness is so incredibly important because the potential for one missed step could cause us to fall into the abyss of our fear.

So for today, this weekend, and this year, if it is your birthday, it’s imperative that we stand strong in the eye of the hurricane. For some of us, this may be the most challenging thing we’ve ever done at one of the most challenging places we’ve ever been. But if we can make it through this with unshakable self-love, the ability to listen objectively, and the presence needed to be in that strength amidst the storm, then we will emerge reborn.

One of my children took 72 hours. Another took five. Another, maybe 12. I don’t know how long this is going to take. It might be quick. It might be as soon as Sunday. It might not be until next January. But we are all going through an incredible metamorphosis right now. Maybe we are being born. Maybe we are giving birth. Either way, the heat is up.

In classic astrological fashion, there are suggestions that can help make us move through this and emerge with courage, strength, and loving power. Mars also happens to be in a trine with Neptune. It is forgiveness, one of the most challenging things right now, which will help. We allow the change. We accept the fact that sometimes fire is necessary for transmutation. So we allow the process. Meditation, yoga, outdoor activities, reflection, dance… These all help.

Trust the birth process. Trust that we are giving birth or being born. Find the self-worth, self-love, and personal empowerment to help us get through this. What is happening with us personally may be happening in the collective so be kind out in the world. Be careful out in the world because not everybody in the world is reading this and may be experiencing the knee jerk reactions of rage or evasion. Can we forgive them their trespasses? Forgive the process. Trust the process. Trust your process, and all will be well.

Today’s post is brought to us by some of the more volatile aspects I’ve seen conglomerated in a long time.

The gardening calendar says to be mindful of a void of course Moon until 2:53 PM central when it enters Cancer and things begin to culminate.

October 1

For today and this year, if it’s your birthday, it is a fact that words sound power, what we focus on grows, and that the evolution and Revolution is within us should we choose to accept it.

The next couple of days, though, it is important that we take incredibly special focused care of our reactions to external stimuli. Things may occur, or things have occurred, which may be infuriating. There is so much BS occurring in the world, politically, economically, socially, sexually, religiously, relationally, even personally. Our awareness of said BS is growing exponentially. This can enrage us. That rage can blind us. We must be very, very, very careful about our reactions to infractions. As we become aware of the above BS, our desire for it to change out there becomes greater. That is fine. It is our job to work to change the things that we can in the external. We need to fight the good fight, defend, that which needs defending, let go of that which needs to be let go of, and burn down that which only incineration can heal.

But still, all change is in me.

Our attitudes, our perception, our engagement, how we show up, how we react, what intentions we have, and what love we can hold, are all determinant factors in the play of our biographies this month. Today is a preview.

Take a look inside. Find your indestructible heart. As long as you are alive, you have one. Act, think, speak, and feel from there, and all will be well.

Today’s post is brought to us by a Gemini Moon as Mars becomes, and triggers other things to become volatile over the next several days. Be careful with words.

The gardening calendar says to make sure you have plenty of freshwater and canned goods just in case.

September 28

For today, and this year, if it is your birthday, make the most of this life. We don’t need tragedy to remind us of the sacredness of this life. What we need is choice, intention, deliberation, focus, and commitment. What we need is revolution, evolution, healthy perspective, and radical self love.

The truth is that we are all going to die one day and that every moment is sacred. Tragedy reminds us of that. So let’s please ask ourselves what is truly important. Let’s wake up in prayer, spend the day in prayer, and go to sleep in prayer. Let’s let every moment become sacred. Let’s accept the duty of living a beautiful life.

Everything changes. Everything evolves. Everything revolves. Let’s engage the changes. Let us choose evolution. Let us not fear the revolution. We have this one moment, this one breath. Breathe deeply and give things for your life, and all will be well.

Today’s post is brought to us by a grand trine with the Sun, Uranus, and Pluto and Mercury happily aspecting the Moon’s Nodes.

The gardening calendar says to take it moment by moment.
