Hello Everyone! Happy Sunday! ☀️

I'm Karah, and I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and share a little about what I've been building.

If life feels complicated, you don't necessarily need someone to tell you what to do. Sometimes you need someone who can help you make sense of it.

That's what I do through OpenArms Sanctuary.

I'm a Certified Life Coach, and I help people find clarity when they're stuck—whether you're trying to make sense of a situation, figure out what you actually want, decide what to do next, or simply need an outside perspective.

I currently offer two ways to work with me:

✨ Limited One-on-One Coaching
A personal coaching session where we can talk through what's happening, what you want, and where you're trying to go from here.

📩 Clarity & Direction
An email-based option for when you have a whole situation you need help sorting through. You tell me what's going on, what you want to change or figure out, and what you're hoping for. I read through it and email you back with my perspective, practical guidance, and options to consider.

No two situations are exactly alike, and neither should the conversation about them be.

**The links to both options are on my profile.**

If you've been trying to figure something out on your own and keep going in circles, maybe it's time for a different perspective. ❤️

When I went through the things I’ve gone through I never imagined I’d get over any of it or even survive some of it. But here I am. Now I find myself writing about it. Writing things I once would have never dared to share with other people, let alone strangers on the Internet. But I find it freeing, therapeutic and inspiring to share my story, my life with other people who understand loss, grief, loneliness, abuse, sexual assault, toxic parents, miserable work environments, the yearning for more out of life, dreams that seem so far away and an ache for connection.

Now I share my story ://substack.com/.

Sometimes making the decision is only half the battle.

You may already know what you want—but then you imagine the disappointment, anger, guilt, questions, or conflict that could follow.

Which part usually keeps you stuck?

A. Making the decision
B. Dealing with someone else’s reaction
C. Doubting yourself afterward

You can answer with just the letter if you want.

Sometimes the decision itself isn’t unclear.

You know what you want to say. You know what needs to change. You may even know what you would choose if nobody else had an opinion about it.

What keeps you stuck is knowing that someone may become angry, disappointed, hurt, or inconvenienced by your decision.

Their feelings matter—but they don’t automatically matter more than your needs, safety, peace, or future.

Before asking, “How do I keep everyone happy?” try asking:

“What would I choose if I trusted myself to handle someone else’s reaction?”

The answer may tell you more than another pros-and-cons list ever could.

You don’t need another person telling you, “Just do what feels right.”

If it were that simple, you wouldn’t still be thinking about it.

Maybe you’re:

• Trying to decide whether to stay, leave, confront someone, or let something go
• Stuck between what you want and what everyone else expects from you
• Questioning whether you’re overreacting—or ignoring something important
• Dealing with a relationship, family, friendship, or work situation that keeps getting more complicated
• Trying to set a boundary without feeling cruel or guilty
• Replaying the same conversation and wondering what you missed
• Getting conflicting advice from people who are too close to the situation
• Facing a decision where every option has consequences
• Tired of going in circles inside your own head

You may not need months of coaching. You may simply need someone who can look at the whole situation without being emotionally tangled in it.

That’s what I do.

You tell me what happened, who is involved, what you’ve already tried, what’s bothering you most, and what you’re hoping to figure out.

I take the time to examine it all and help you see:

• What stands out from the outside
• Patterns, contradictions, or dynamics you may be too close to notice
• What may actually be at the center of the problem
• What is—and is not—within your control
• The realistic options in front of you
• What each option could mean
• Practical next steps that make sense for your situation

I won’t give you a generic pep talk. I won’t judge you, rush you, or pretend every problem has an easy answer.

I will give you the thoughtful, honest outside perspective you wish you had from someone in your corner.

Personal Clarity & Direction is a one-time written service through OpenArms Sanctuary. You receive my personalized perspective, realistic options, and practical direction as a PDF within three business days.

No appointment. No ongoing commitment. $59.

If you’re stuck in a situation and need someone to help you make sense of it, message me the word CLARITY.

I did something big today.

After months of writing, planning, healing, and building…
I finally launched my podcast:

R.E.S.P.E.C.T: Women Rising Together
A trauma‑aware, raw, unfiltered, unedited weekly space for women who have lived through the kind of pain that changes you.

Episode 1 is officially LIVE.

🎙 Watch/Listen here:
https://thesanctuarypost.substack.com/p/season-1-episode-1-the-moment-i-finally

🎧 Also available on:
• Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/033qMcZvtea88uHe (open.spotify.com in Bing)
• Pandora: (live now — search the show name)
• Apple Podcasts: pending approval, will update when live

This show is recorded right from my living room — no filters, no edits, no pretending. Just honesty, healing, and the conversations women have been forced to swallow for too long. The same way I coach women to help them move forward and be the best versions of themselves.

Every Monday at 6 AM EST, a new episode drops.
Every Thursday at 7 PM EST, we gather for a live chat on Substack.

If you want to submit a story or question for future episodes (anonymous welcome), here’s the form:

Thank you to everyone who has supported me, believed in me, and held space for me.
This is the beginning of something real.

Why I’m Doing This Work for Women
I need to say something that I don’t think I’ve ever said this plainly:
I’m doing this work — the coaching, the advocating, the writing, the podcast — because I know what it feels like to be a woman who has had to hold too much, too early, for too long.

I know what it feels like to be the strong one, the quiet one, the one who survives the storm and then has to figure out who she is afterward.
I know what it feels like to rebuild yourself from pieces no one else even knew were broken.
I know what it feels like to be emotionally homeless — not in crisis anymore, but not fully “okay” either.
That in‑between place where you’re functioning, but not grounded.
Healing, but not sure what comes next.

And I also know how lonely that place can be.

Women carry so much in silence.
We carry the weight of our stories, our trauma, our expectations, our families, our pasts, our futures — and we’re expected to do it gracefully, quietly, without needing anything in return.

I’m done with that.

I’m coaching because I want women to have a place where they don’t have to be strong.
Where they don’t have to explain themselves.
Where they don’t have to shrink or soften or translate their pain into something palatable.

I’m advocating because I want women to feel seen in the exact places they’ve been ignored.
I want them to know their experiences are real, their emotions are valid, and their healing doesn’t have to look pretty to be meaningful.

And I’m creating a podcast because I want women to hear voices that sound like theirs — shaky, brave, tired, rising.
I want them to know they’re not the only ones navigating the messy middle of healing and becoming.

This isn’t a brand.
This isn’t a business move.
This is my life’s work.
This is the work I needed years ago.
This is the work I’m giving back now.

If you’re here, reading this, you’re part of that work too.

Mother’s Day is next week, and I don’t care. I’m not calling, driving, sending a card, or pretending I even like my mother. Because I don't.

I’m not a mother except to my husky, and I refuse to feel guilty for being no contact with mine.

For anyone who struggles with Mother’s Day — loss, abuse, infertility, grief, no contact, or anything else — I see you. You’re not alone.

Do what’s right for you. Cry, rest, laugh, binge a show, order pizza, or do nothing at all.
It’s okay to not be okay.

You are enough. You are strong.
Don’t let anyone take your crown — including you.
Go be a bad bitch. Tears, messy hair, crown and all.
