Simple message. 2027 will be here before you know it. Do you have your postpartum doula support in place? I had to turn down a client the other day because she called after the baby was born and I am fully booked. Don't be caught scrambling for support. Book early and get the days you want.

College, I tell my clients not to blink because then their baby will be 17 and looking at colleges. However, it is also important to remind new parents that their baby is new to the world and even though we can't remember life without the baby, they are only a few weeks old. Managing the expectations around sleep, wake windows, and feeding is part of what I do as a postpartum doula.

Your favorite doula started with a new baby last night and had about 3 decent hours of sleep plus a few more bad hours. So tonight I am heading to bed at 8pm. I really do get spoiled by those 16 week old babies who sleep well.

I've been quiet lately, mostly because I have been busy with clients. Yesterday reminded me that sometimes a mom doesn't need stuff done, but someone to listen and validate her concerns. Moms of all ages worry about money, daycare, and life. It is my honor to help them sort through the weeds of life and direct them to resources that can help.

Motherhood is hard no matter how old your kids are. I love how I am able to work my schedule around my kids, but my job isn't really flexible.

However, I love seeing how things work out. I was supposed to have a shift start at 8AM, but my client messaged last night that she didn't need me until noon. I was a little bummed, but have plenty of hours this week, so it didn't bug me too much.

Fast forward to today. One of my kids wasn't feeling well this morning and I knew she just needed a bit more sleep. I was able to allow her to take a 3 hr long nap and still get her to school by 10.

In the past few weeks, I have spoken to a lot of people I haven't seen in a long time. I just want to say thank you to all who silently follow me and have taken the time to tell me how much you love my baby posts.

When I lost my teaching job in May of 25, I never expected that I would be where I am today. Keep praying for me and the families I serve.

The bassinet belongs to the cat. The baby just borrows it from him. The bottle washer is also his personal toy. Don't leave your water unattended. He will knock it over. And if you start moving at 3am, he believes it is morning and he should be let out to feed.

Your favorite doula got to spend the afternoon on her porch relaxing before a crazy week. I have one client finishing and another starting so there are a lot of hours to work this week. Thankfully, the hubby is home to handle things here.
