September is Blood Cancer Awareness Month.

It's a time to honor and support patients and families facing leukemia, lymphoma, and multiple myeloma AND to raise awareness for the signs that help people seek care sooner.

🩸 Blood cancers don’t have routine screening tests.

Early detection depends on recognizing symptoms like:
• Persistent fatigue
• Unexplained fevers or night sweats
• Easy bruising or bleeding
• Swollen lymph nodes
• Frequent infections

If you’ve noticed symptoms that aren’t improving, reach out to your provider. A simple blood test can offer important answers.

💛 Awareness leads to earlier diagnosis, and earlier diagnosis leads to better outcomes.

Recent measles cases in several areas are a good reminder to check your family’s vaccination status. Measles spreads very easily, but the MMR vaccine provides strong, long‑lasting protection.

If you’re unsure whether you or your child are up to date, your healthcare provider can help confirm and schedule any needed doses.

Staying current on vaccines keeps you, your loved ones, and your community safer.

The GLIN IPA Q3 Staff Meeting brought our team together to welcome new colleagues, celebrate work anniversaries, review progress toward our organizational goals, and strengthen our shared message around “What is GLIN IPA?”

We also appreciated insights from Leonard E. Egede, MD, MS, FACP, our Medical Director for Population Health, who shared valuable perspective on the Epic EMR as several teams continue implementation.

And of course, we closed out with the Great GLIN Giveaway with three individual winners plus an all‑staff surprise featuring our new GLIN IPA mugs.
