Do you frequently find yourself quizzing your child like:
"What's that?"
"What color is it?"
"Can you say _________?"
Try describing what they're doing instead! One of the easiest ways to build language skills this fall is narrating their activities.
🎃 "You're picking a pumpkin from the field."
🍎 "You found a shiny red apple."
🍂 "You're crunching through the leaves."
Children learn language BEST when words connect to their experiences.
When they hear:
"You're climbing..."
"You're pulling..."
"You're choosing..."
They begin connecting words with actions, concepts, and meaning. And the best part? There's no pressure to respond.
You're simply giving their brain extra language to soak up while they're having fun.
