We celebrated CNA week with a disco day and a candy bar! Big hair of all colors were seen all over the building, staff and residents alike got in on the fun! We are so thankful for all of our hardworking CNAs and the goodness they bring each day.

From Cartersville to Talking Rock!
Our sweet resident Betty had one goal, & that was to make it to the store she owns in Talking Rock, GA for ice cream. She was told by therapy that if she could start getting out of the bed more and staying in the chair for a certain amount of hours a day, she’d be able to make the long car ride. We gave her a couple months to work towards that goal, and this week she got to have her ice cream! We are so so proud of our friend and her accomplishments!

We’d like to congratulate our June employee of the month, Merry Jones!
Merry is a part of our housekeeping and laundry team. The residents adore Merry, and so do our staff. She is a hard worker and we know that anytime she’s in the building the work is going to get done! She is a light in our facility, always maintaining a positive attitude that is contagious. We appreciate you so much Merry!

Today we said goodbye to our friend Fay as we watched her walk out of the door independently! She came to Maple Ridge with very little balance and unsteadiness, seeing her progress has been a joy! We are so proud of her!

We ended National Skilled Nursing Care Week with music and ice-cream! Thank you to Paul Rogers and friends for providing us with Blue Grass music and Georgia Hospice care for bringing the ice-cream.

One of our biggest events each year is the Golden Olympics. This year residents participated in Ring Toss, Corn-hole, and wheelchair races! We are so amazed with how the competitiveness grows each year! We followed the Olympics with an awards ceremony where each resident left with a medal, some left with more than one! Residents also got to enjoy cake donated by a previous resident, thank you Linda!
