🍂 The Very First Step of Nourishing Your Body: Support the Liver 🌿

Have you ever wondered why Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) places so much importance on nourishing the Liver?

In TCM, the Liver helps maintain the smooth flow of Qi throughout the body and is traditionally associated with emotional balance and the storage of Blood.

Supporting the Liver isn’t about detox teas or quick fixes. ❤️ It’s about managing stress, getting enough rest, eating balanced meals, and nourishing your body consistently.

🍲 Meet ZenQi’s Autumn Renewal Chicken Soup!

I created this autumn-inspired soup using traditional ingredients chosen to bring nourishment and seasonal balance to your everyday meals.

🌿 Why these ingredients?

❤️ Goji berries (Gou Qi Zi): Traditionally used to nourish Liver Yin and Blood.

🍒 Red dates (Hong Zao): Traditionally used to support Qi and nourish Blood, complementing a nourishing food therapy approach.

🤍 Shan Yao (Chinese yam): Traditionally used to support the Lung and Spleen systems, making it a thoughtful addition to an autumn soup.

🌱 Lotus root and Corn: In TCM, white and yellow foods are traditionally associated with the Lung system which is the most affected system by the autumn.

🍗 Chicken: Provides protein to help meet your body’s nutritional needs.

Our Autumn Renewal Chicken Soup is inspired by two important principles of TCM: nourishing the Liver and adapting our food choices to the season. 🌿

Because we’re often so busy taking care of everyone else that we forget to nourish ourselves. ❤️ Sometimes, self-care starts with a simple bowl of soup.

Are you ready to take care of yourself?

ZenQi — Food Therapy • TCM • Wellness

Let’s eat with purposes. 🌿

These ingredient descriptions reflect traditional TCM uses; the soup is a nourishing food, not a treatment for liver or lung disease.

🍂 Your TCM Guide to Fall: Small Ways to Take Better Care of Yourself 🌿

There’s something about fall that reminds us to slow down a little.

As the weather gets cooler, we find ourselves craving warm soups, comforting meals, and a little more time to rest. It’s also a good reminder that taking care of ourselves doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes, it’s the small things we do every day that matter most. ❤️

In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), autumn is associated with the Lungs and Large Intestine. It’s a season to pay attention to dryness, nourish our bodies, and learn to let go of what we no longer need.

Here are a few simple ways to care for yourself this fall:

🍐 Eat with the season. Pears are traditionally used in Chinese dietary therapy to help moisten dryness and support Lung health. Please don't forget to try our best-seller dessert made from Asian Pear, Tremella & Peach Gum and naturally sweetened with monk fruit.

🍲 Give your body something warm and nourishing. As the weather cools, try adding more soups and stews to your meals. In TCM food therapy, ingredients are chosen with intention, based on traditional principles of supporting digestion and nourishing the body. This is exactly why I created ZenQi—to make traditional food therapy delicious, comforting, aligned with seasons and easy to enjoy in everyday life.

🌿 Make time to rest. A warm bowl of soup after a long day, a few quiet moments before bed, or a relaxing herbal foot soak can become small rituals that help you slow down and unwind.

🧘‍♀️ Move gently and breathe deeply. Walking, stretching, and meditation are simple ways to reconnect with yourself without feeling like you always have to do more.

😴 Don’t forget the basics. Consistent sleep, balanced meals, regular movement, and managing stress are all important parts of taking care of yourself.

At ZenQi, I believe nourishing yourself shouldn’t feel like another task on your to-do list. That’s why I prepare TCM-inspired soups and meals that bring together traditional food therapy and the comfort of a home-cooked meal. Whether you’re looking for a warm bowl of soup on a chilly evening or simply trying to be more intentional about what you eat, I hope ZenQi can be part of your routine. ❤️

🎁 A little something from us to you!

For a limited time, every order of $50 or more comes with a FREE herbal foot soak kit! 🌿 It’s our way of encouraging you to take a little time for yourself, unwind after a busy day, and create a relaxing bedtime ritual.

Thank you for giving ZenQi a chance to take care of you during this transitional season.

Let’s welcome fall with warm meals, peaceful evenings, and a little more kindness toward ourselves. 🍂

Let’s eat with purpose. 🌿

🍂 FALL IS COMING — LET’S PREPARE YOUR BODY FOR WINTER. 🌿

As the weather starts to cool down, it’s a great time to shift from constantly reaching for cold drinks and light foods to giving your body more warm, comforting, nutrient-rich meals.

And if you’ve been waiting for a sign to take better care of yourself before winter arrives… this is it. ❤️

At ZenQi, I believe wellness starts with what we put in our bowl.

Not a complicated diet.
Not another wellness trend.
Just good food, made with intention.

This week’s Nourish & Restore Menu brings together warm bowls inspired by Traditional Chinese Medicine and the idea of using food to support everyday wellness. 🌿

🩸 Blood Nourishing Soup — $15
Slow-simmered chicken with premium TCM herbs, red dates and goji berries. A comforting, restorative bowl for nourishing and replenishing.

🍲 Golden Gut Soup — $15
Chinese yam, Job’s tears and shiitake mushrooms come together in a gentle, warming soup inspired by TCM food therapy for digestive wellness.

🍜 Chicken Mushroom Noodle — $15
Chicken, noodles and a flavorful broth loaded with enoki, king oyster, shiitake and baby bella mushrooms. Comfort food that feels good.

🥩 Beef Vitality — $17

✨ Skin Glow Dessert — $7

Because winter is easier when you don’t wait until you’re already run down to start taking care of yourself.

How TCM Supports Your Fertility 🌿 | A Little Good News from ZenQi

Sometimes, the best news comes from a customer who has been on a journey you know isn’t easy. ❤️

Last week, I received some wonderful news from one of my customers: their IVF was successful! 🥹

I was so happy to hear this. Anyone who has experienced the fertility journey knows how much hope, patience, and emotional strength it takes. Every appointment, every test, and every waiting period can bring a mix of excitement and anxiety.

I’m grateful that this customer chose ZenQi to be part of their journey, and I’m wishing them all the best as they take their next steps.

Their news reminded me why I started ZenQi: I believe in the power of nourishing food and the traditional wisdom of Chinese food therapy.

🌿 So, how can Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) support fertility?

In TCM, reproductive health is closely connected to three important organ systems: the Kidneys, Liver, and Spleen. These are TCM concepts that describe broader functional relationships within the body, rather than simply referring to the physical organs.

✨ 1. Kidneys — The Foundation of Reproductive Health

In TCM, the Kidneys store Jing, often translated as essence, which is associated with growth, development, and reproduction.

From a food therapy perspective, nourishing meals can help provide the protein, energy, and nutrients your body needs throughout the fertility journey.

✨ 2. Liver — Supporting the Smooth Flow of Qi and Blood

In TCM, the Liver helps regulate the smooth flow of Qi and is associated with the movement of Blood throughout the body.

Stress, emotional tension, and menstrual discomfort are among the factors a TCM practitioner may consider when evaluating Liver patterns.

This is why I believe nourishment should go beyond ingredients alone. Taking time to enjoy warm, comforting meals and maintaining a balanced routine can be small but meaningful ways to care for yourself during an emotionally demanding time.

✨ 3. Spleen — Turning Food into Nourishment

In TCM, the Spleen is responsible for transforming food into Qi and Blood, which nourish the body.

When digestion and nutrient absorption are working well, your body can make better use of the nutrients you consume. In TCM, supporting Spleen Qi is an important part of food therapy.

This is one reason I pay so much attention to the ingredients, preparation, and cooking methods used in ZenQi meals. Eating well isn’t just about how much you eat; it’s also about giving your body the nourishment it needs.

🌸 How does ZenQi support your fertility journey?

At ZenQi, I bring TCM food therapy principles into everyday meals, combining carefully selected ingredients, slow cooking, and comforting flavors.

🍲 Nourishing meals made with intention. Our fertility packages feature comforting soups and stews made with ingredients such as chicken, beef, Chinese yam, lotus seeds, and red dates.

🌿 Traditional food therapy for everyday life. Rather than making nourishment complicated, we bring traditional food wisdom into meals you can enjoy as part of your daily routine.

❤️ Support for both partners. Fertility isn’t just a woman’s journey. Men play an equally important role in conception, too. That’s why ZenQi offers fertility nourishment meals for men as well as women. After all, one hand cannot clap! Both partners deserve care and attention as they prepare for this important chapter of life.

🌿 Are you trying to boost your health but not seeing results? You might be doing it out of order!

🌿In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), true wellness isn't just about taking random supplements—it's about following a proper sequence of nourishment so your body can actually absorb the good stuff. Think of it like building a house; you can't put the roof up before laying the foundation!Take a look at this roadmap to see where your body might be asking for help:
1️⃣ Support the Liver – Dealing with greasy hair, vivid dreams, or a dull complexion? Your liver is likely overworked and needs clearing first.
2️⃣ Nourish the Spleen & Stomach – Bloating, gas, or a constant bland taste in your mouth mean your digestion needs a reset so it can process nutrients.
3️⃣ Clear Dampness – If you feel heavy, struggle with sticky mucus, or get swollen hands and feet, it's time to clear out internal moisture.
4️⃣ Replenish Qi & Blood – Feeling constantly fatigued, sensitive to the cold, or dizzy when standing up? Your vital energy needs a top-up.
5️⃣ Nourish Kidney Qi – Frequent nighttime bathroom trips, dark under-eye circles, and poor sleep point directly to depleted kidney energy.
6️⃣ Nourish the Ovaries – Irregular cycles, mood swings, or feeling suddenly overheated mean your hormonal health needs targeted care.

If you jump straight to step 4 or 5 while your digestion (step 2) is weak or your body is full of dampness (step 3), your system won't be able to process the nourishment!

Hi everyone! ❤️

First of all, I want to say THANK YOU to all 1,700+ of you who are following ZenQi and accompanying me on this TCM journey.

You’ve probably heard me say “TCM” a lot. But what does TCM actually mean?

And why am I using a 2,000+ year-old medical tradition when we have modern nutrition, calorie tracking, protein goals, supplements, and more nutrition information than ever before?

Let me start from the beginning.

TCM stands for Traditional Chinese Medicine.

It is a traditional system of health that developed over thousands of years and includes practices such as acupuncture, herbal medicine, movement practices, and dietary therapy.

One part that I find especially fascinating is food therapy.

In the TCM tradition, food isn’t viewed simply as calories, protein, carbohydrates, fat, vitamins, and minerals.

Food also has qualities.

Some foods are traditionally considered warming. Some cooling. Some more nourishing. Some lighter and easier to digest. TCM also considers flavor, season, preparation method, and the individual person when thinking about food.

And this is where I think TCM can offer an interesting perspective on our modern diet.

Today, we have incredible access to food.

But having more food choices doesn’t necessarily mean we’re paying more attention to what our body needs.

We’re busy. We skip meals. We eat in front of computers.

We grab something through a drive-through. We follow the newest diet.

We count calories, protein, carbs and fat—but sometimes forget to ask: “How does this food actually make me feel?”

And I don’t think the answer is to throw modern nutrition away.

I think we can learn from both.

Modern nutrition has taught us so much about protein, fiber, vitamins, minerals, energy balance, and overall dietary patterns.

TCM offers a different lens.

It asks us to think about the whole person and the relationship between food, digestion, season, lifestyle, and individual needs.

That’s why a TCM-based meal isn’t simply: “Take a normal meal and add some Chinese herbs.”

It starts with a different question: “Who is eating this, and what are we trying to nourish and support?”

That might mean creating a warming, nourishing soup for someone who feels depleted.

It might mean choosing gentler foods for someone with sensitive digestion.

It might mean changing ingredients according to the season.

Having said that, TCM food therapy isn’t magic.

For me, one of the most valuable ideas is actually very simple: Don’t wait until you’re sick to start taking care of yourself.

Pay attention to what you eat. Pay attention to how you feel after you eat.

And make food part of your everyday self-care.

That is the idea behind ZenQi.

I’m here to share something I deeply believe in:

Food can be more than something that simply fills your stomach.

It can be intentional. It can be nourishing. It can be comforting. It can be part of supporting your body and caring for yourself every day.

This is why I call the food I make TCM food therapy. 🌿

🌿 This Week’s ZenQi Menu Is Ready for Pre-Order!

It's always heart-warming when coming home to a warm meal.
Not a rushed meal. Not something made just to fill you up. But a bowl of soup that has been slowly simmering, filled with ingredients chosen with intention.

That’s what I love about cooking through the lens of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

For me, ZenQi has never been just about selling food. It’s about bringing back the feeling of being cared for—the kind of meal someone makes for you when they know you’re tired, stressed, recovering, or simply need a little comfort. ❤️

This week, I’m sharing some of my favorite nourishing bowls:

🌿 ZenQi Pre-Orders Are Open for Thursday & Friday

The more I learn about Traditional Chinese Medicine, the more I realize that some of the best ways we can care for ourselves are also the simplest.

A warm bowl of soup.
A broth that has been simmering for hours.
A meal made with ingredients chosen not only for how they taste, but also for how they nourish the body.

This is really the heart behind ZenQi.

I started cooking this way for the people I love. I saw firsthand how important food becomes when someone is tired, recovering, stressed, or simply doesn’t feel like themselves. Sometimes you don’t need another complicated wellness routine—you just need someone to make you something warm and nourishing. ❤️

That’s the feeling I hope you get from this week’s menu.

🍲 Renewal Chicken Soup – $15
Light, warm and comforting, slowly simmered with lotus root, red dates, goji berries and traditional herbs. This is the kind of soup I reach for when the body needs gentle nourishment without something too heavy.

🍜 Chicken Mushroom Noodle – $15
Chicken, noodles and four kinds of mushrooms—shiitake, enoki, king oyster and baby bella—in a warm chicken broth. Simple, nourishing comfort food that always feels good at the end of a long day.

🥟 Wonton Noodle Soup with Grilled Pork – $15
Tender wontons, noodles and grilled pork in a savory herbal broth - making it a really comforting bowl of food made with care.

🥩 Beef Vitality Stew – $17

🌿 ZenQi Pre-Orders Are Open for Thursday & Friday!

One thing I love about Traditional Chinese Medicine is the idea that food can do more than satisfy hunger. The foods we choose every day can gently support digestion, nourish Qi and Blood, replenish the body, and help us feel more balanced.

That philosophy is behind this week’s ZenQi menu—warm broths, slow-simmered proteins, mushrooms, vegetables, and traditional Asian ingredients, all prepared in small batches with care.
