The Cookin Cutie I've had a love affair with food for a long time! I cook what I call, Pretty Much Paleo, meaning that I focus on meats, veggies and fruits with no grains, legumes, and very limited dairy.

Sooooo I'm in the process of changing my blog around a bit! That includes changing the name of the blog as well as the content. I started this blog when I was a newlywed. Although I was super busy, I still had time to make lots of food and take pictures while I was doing it! Nowadays... I'm lucky to get something in a pan without a little one reaching for the hot stove! Anyway- we've gone through some major life changes and that includes kids, staying at home, more natural living stuff, and homeschooling (just to name a few). So all that being said- I'm working on a bunch of changes, so stay tuned!

It's been one of those incredibly stressful and busy days where all I want to do is dig into a bag of potato chips or scarf down half a pan of brownies.... Instead, I'm digging into this mix of roasted cashews, macadamia nuts, and banana chips.... Feeling proud of not caving! I'll update today's food log tomorrow when I actually can get to a computer rather than my phone!

Bleh- sooooo I had a Dr. appointment and the appointment took about an hour longer than I thought it would, so I didn't have time to go home and make the yummy food I had prepared....

what's worse- I didn't have my purse, so I couldn't go to the store to get anything even remotely healthy- I managed to fish about $8 out of the bottom of my work bag.

I went to a crappy Chinese restaurant and had a gross chicken and broccoli stir fry which was NOT good and I do NOT feel good.... Moral of the story- I'm keeping PLENTY of healthy snacks AND emergency cash in my car!!!

Back from vacation! I already went to the gym, cleaned up a bit, and planned next week's meals!

Menu for the week-
* BBQ grilled chicken with sweet potato salad and sautéed broccoli
* Italian stuffed red peppers with baked veggies
* beef kabobs with zucchini, peppers, onion, and mushrooms and a loaded carrot salad
* mango chicken salad
* roasted tomato soup

All other meals will be leftovers and salads

alright... I haven't posted anything in forever! I'm so bad at keeping up with this! Who would have thought that a full time job, working on a Master's degree, feeding a family, and taking care of a 9 month old (while working out) would be exhausting? :)

21 Day Sugar Detox: Days 5-7
Day 5-
*Breakfast- bacon, eggs, potato and cheese
*Lunch- grilled lamb with some white rice and grilled zucchini, onions, and summer squash
* Dinner- Cauliflower crust pepperoni pizza (blah- I messed up the recipe or something... it wasn't really good)
*Snacks/drinks- unsweetened iced tea, decaf coffee with half and half, water, pistachios, cut up carrots

Day 6
* Breakfast- I skipped it- oops!
* Lunch- grilled tenderloin with cheese (it was a sandwich without the bread, I don't normally put cheese on a steak), sauteed green beans, and a tomato based soup with chorizo, some black beans, tomato, and onion
*Dinner- CHEAT ALERT!!! I got fast food- fried shrimp with french fries- sooo not worth it- details on the upcoming blog post
* Snacks- Didn't have time to snack- I was on the go all day!

Day 7
* Breakfast- eggs, bacon, potato
* Lunch- Sauteed chicken with a little bit of white rice
* Dinner- Didn't eat dinner because I ate my breakfast and lunch super late and just wasn't hungry
* Snacks- kefir yogurt, pistachios

21 Day Sugar Detox: Day 4 -

*Breakfast- bacon and eggs with 1/4 cup white potatoes and cheese
*Lunch - more of the broccoli soup and salad and a few carrots (there was free pizza at school and I didn't eat it!!!)
*Dinner- went out with friends- burger patty with jerk seasoning, sauteed mushrooms, cheese, bacon, and a few bites of mashed potatoes
*Snacks- pistachios, carrots, cucumbers, and the Greek yogurt dip, whole milk with decaf coffee
