Covid 19 Update 03/16/20

For the safety of our patients and their loved ones, we are taking the following precautions during the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Beginning 3/19, all 4 doctors will be coming to the office every weekday. We will see ONLY well checks and behavioral visits in the morning hours. We will NOT see sick patients until the afternoon to help prevent exposures to well children. To minimize risk to our patients, we will have the same 2 doctors seeing ONLY well visits in the AM and the same 2 doctors seeing ONLY sick visits in the afternoons. The doctors seeing sick visits will NOT be doing well checks for the near future. Your appointment might get changed to another doctor and time. We understand that this might be inconvenient to you, but we do not want people to miss life-saving vaccines during this pandemic and we want our sick patients to be evaluated appropriately.

We will have DEDICATED exam rooms for well visit use ONLY (no sick patients).

We will be seeing patients by prior appointment only. There will be NO WALK-IN APPOINTMENTS for the next few weeks- please CALL ahead to schedule all appointments!

We will be changing our office hours to 8am-5pm Monday - Friday. Our phones will be open 8am-5pm Monday - Friday. Please CALL 8:30-10:00am on Saturday for appointments only.
To keep our office as safe as possible, we ask that only ONE healthy parent accompany the patient. Please leave siblings at home if at all possible. Please bring your own toys and books to the office as we will be removing extra items from the rooms.

We will have a separate entrance and exam room for patients experiencing COUGH and FEVER. If your child is experiencing these symptoms please call the reception line when you are here and a nurse will meet you at the door.

We will not have patients waiting in the waiting room if at all possible - you will be assigned a room upon check-in and the nurse will meet you in the room to get vitals.

Currently, we are NOT able to test for COVID-19 at our office. Testing may be ordered and run elsewhere if the patient meets a set of criteria after evaluation by our staff. This might change, so be sure to check our website frequently.

We encourage our patients and their families to adhere to the guidelines of the Center for Disease Control and the Virginia Department of Health- including social distancing and frequent hand washing. We will work as a team to keep your family safe through this outbreak.

As of July 1, all children two years of age and younger will need to have a rear-facing child safety seat in Virginia. According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, children are less likely to die or have a serious injury if they’re put in a rear-facing seat.

I’d love the doctors to look at the study referenced in this article. https://www.facebook.com/49692130138/posts/10157087471615139/ Prolonged IV fluids were part of my first labor and my baby dropped past that magic 10%. I always felt the two were connected.
