Max in Motion keeps going strong at the Ability360 Sports and Fitness Center. Their clinic on June 22nd includes Wheelchair Tennis!

Thanks to all the families that came out to the Sports & Fitness Center on Saturday to join us for the April Max in Motion Youth Adaptive Sports Clinic! The featured sports that the kids got to play and learn about this month were power soccer and wheelchair hockey.

For one family in particular, this was their third Max in Motion Clinic. They discovered the first while on a tour of Ability360 and have been coming to them ever since.

“It’s just fun,” said Derek, the father of two of the participants. Derek said he was glad there was an event that both his 11-year-old son, Brayden, and his 8-year-old daughter, Gracelyn, could enjoy together. Gracelyn uses a wheelchair and loves to be active, seeking out adaptive sports, such as the Challenger baseball team she plays on at her school. The Max in Motion Clinic allows her to explore a broader range of accessible sports.

“When things aren’t accessible, sometimes they’ll feel a bit left out. So this [the Max in Motion clinic] is great because they get to participate fully.”

Featured in the attached images, Gracelyn wears her Max in Motion T-shirt to show her enthusiasm for the event. Power soccer was her favorite event of the day. Her brother, Brayden, said what he loved most about the clinics was getting “to play with other people and getting to know other people.”

The family said they look forward to future Max in Motion events.
