These energy bites from @Encala provide a quick burst of energy when you hit a mid-day slump! These bites are easy to make, and can be packed for on-the-go snacking.

Ingredients
• 1/2 cup of creamy peanut butter
• 1 tablespoon of Encala
• 1 cup of old fashioned oats
• 1/3 cup of honey
• 1 tablespoon of chia seeds
• 1 teaspoon of vanilla
• 1/2 cup of ground flax seeds (optional)
• 1/2 cup of semisweet chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions
• First, mix the Encala with the peanut butter in a separate bowl.
• Next, pour peanut butter into bowl with all of the other ingredients and mix thoroughly until combined.
• Roll the mixture into 1 inch balls.
• Feel free to enjoy immediately, place in the fridge to enjoy later, or freeze so they last longer!

What's the difference between Navy Day and Navy Birthday?

Both occur in October, and both salute the men and women, past and present, of the United States Navy. While Navy Birthday is recognized on the anniversary of the formation of the Continental Navy during the American Revolution, Navy Day is observed on October 27 in honor of President Theodore Roosevelt's birthday.

Do you have enough fiber in your diet, or are you looking to add more? The solution? Two fiber-packed foods - oats and flax seeds!

Both foods contribute soluble and insoluble fiber to improve gut health. Overnight oats are a great way to incorporate both of these foods into the diet.

Combine 1/2 cup of oats, a 1/2 cup of milk, 1 teaspoon of honey, 1 teaspoon of flax seeds, and a dash of cinnamon to create an overnight oats base. Before eating, add 1 teaspoon of Encala, mix thoroughly and enjoy. Increase the amount of @EncalaNutrition you add to your overnight oats based on your taste preference.

Serena is a physician, engineer, and NASA astronaut. She visited the ISS as a flight engineer for Expedition 56/57 on the International Space Station.

Jane is a clinical psychologist, health care advocate, non-profit executive, and author. She is president and CEO of the National Alliance for Hispanic Health. She is the author of The Buena Salud Guide book series and The Latina Guide to Health.

Today we are highlighting two Latina women from Puerto Rico, Helen Rodríguez Trías and Antonia Novello!

Helen Rodríguez Trías was a pediatrician, educator, and women's rights activist. She was the first Latina president of the American Public Health Association, a founding member of the Women's Caucus of the APHA, and a recipient of the Presidential Citizens Medal.

Antonia Novello, M.D., is a physician and public health administrator. She was a vice admiral in the Public Health Service Commissioned Corps and served as 14th Surgeon General of the United States from 1990 to 1993. She was the first woman and first Hispanic to serve as Surgeon General.

"Do you start your day with a smoothie? We’ve got you covered – Encala is excellent in smoothies!

Here’s a recipe for a yummy berry smoothie:
Ingredients:
6-8 frozen strawberries
1/2 cup frozen blueberries
1/2 frozen banana
1/4 cup nonfat plain Greek yogurt
2 tablespoons Encala

Directions:
Put all ingredients in a blender and mix
Feel free to substitute plain yogurt for flavored Greek yogurt if you prefer
Consider adding a large handful of spinach or kale to increase the nutrition"
