We all hear the same things: wash your hands, don't touch your face, stay at home, stay 6 feet away from others. Viruses live on boxes and plastic and doorknobs and.
We uphold the highest standards for hygiene and sanitation at all times. There are and always have been rigorous practices in our office to prevent the potential spread of germs of any kind. At TruSmiles Dental, your health, safety, and well-being are always our top priority, and we are continually committed to patient and team safety regardless of the current environment.
We know you may have concerns about COVID-19 / Coronavirus, so we wanted to take a moment to let you know what steps we are taking to keep both you and our team safe and healthy. A number of measures have been implemented to comply with current recommendations from the CDC and WHO. These include social spacing of staff and patients, medical-grade room sanitation of all exam rooms and common areas, temperature monitoring for patient screening and frequent hand-washing.
We look forward to welcoming back our patients and staff and excited to take care of your dental needs. Oral health is essential to general health and well being at every stage of life. The mouth serves as "window" to the rest of the body, providing signals of general health disorders.

Dear Patients & Friends,
We hope everyone is well and settling into the daily norm of social distancing.
Today, when Governor Northam announced that Virginia's public schools and activities would not return to routine operations this school year; Im sure that many familes were immediately concerned with how they would adapt to the disruption.
During this unprecedented crisis we are also concerned with how we can do our part to "flatten the curve," conserve supplies and to eventually resume dental care for our patients.
Essential vs. Non-Essential Businesses: Healthcare practices have been designtated as "essential," and therefore stay open, within the limits of social distancing standards. However, we are committed to staying closed for now, while suporting the office team and community.
Out of caution, we will comply with the original directive outlined by the VDA for a two-week closure. With that said, our office will remain close until April 6th, but will continue to treat dental emergencies.
Our front desk is able to take your calls along with our Emergency phone system.
We will keep everyone informed of new developments. In the meantime, be well and remember that everything is temporary. Thank you to all of our patients and friends for your cooperation and understanding. We look forward to providing best in class dental care for you and your family.
Dr.T & Team
Our office remains open during normal business hours, and we will reassess daily. The safety, health and well-being of our patients has always been our top priority. Whether this is through the care we provide or the environment of our facility. Our internal policies and procedures have always exceeded federally mandated guidelines to protect our patients and staff. Our commitment to provide our patients the safest care throughout this evolving situation is not something we take lightly. We always have and will continue to go above and beyond to ensure that we are exceeding the highest standard of care and customer service. Here are a few extra precautions that we are taking, but not limited to:
Monitoring guidance from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO).
Following the news related to local conditions on an hourly basis.
Increasing the frequency of our sanitation practices inside and outside our surgical facilities.
Wiping down our waiting rooms, chairs, counters and door handles hourly.
Providing hand sanitizer to patients.
Allowing our patients to wait in their cars or outside our office and notifying them when we are ready for their appointment.
We are also asking our patients a few questions to help mitigate any potential exposures. These questions are:
If you are a patient who has traveled outside the US within the last month
Had contact with someone who traveled outside the US and was/is now sick
Had contact with someone who was diagnosed with the novel coronavirus or the flu and/or are now experiencing any of the following symptoms: Temperature, Active Cough or Trouble Breathing
If the patient answers yes, the doctor will be informed and will take appropriate action to protect patients and staff. If there is anything we can do to help you, please do not hesitate to ask.
