If you are a diabetic, Type 1 or 2 you surely know what the lab test A1C is for. Doctors will use this to average your blood sugar over a 3 month period. It is an important marker that it appears just got more important with a new study (PESA) that was recently released indicating reducing A1C even further than the 5.4 recommendation, going further if possible to 4.8. Dr Cywes talks about this study and how reduced A1C to 4.8 shows zero correlation to heart disease😲.

I have been a proponent of the ketogenic diet for close to a decade now. Reducing processed food and refined carbohydrates can help you achieve your goals of reducing your A1C.

Following a very strict carbohydrate reduction regimen along with proper exercise has allowed me to get my A1C to 4.4%.

If your nails look like this and you've been given a recommendation for a topical nail lacquer, cream , gel etc., I am about to save you some money for your retirement!

Thee topical products will not fix nails that look like the picture below. You will spend a lot of money and time using those products with minimal return on investment. I say this with a good deal of confidence after 27 years of treating this issue. These products have never been shown to provide a "cure", eradication of the infection.....success rates ( if you read the small print) hover in the single digits and that is only in very mild cases with usually a single nail affected.
Lasers get a lot of hype, but they are not nearly as effective as the oral medication and are 💵 only and usually require multiple visits.

Oral terbinafine is what I use to clear these infections. You may have been warned against it by your Dr as "bad for your liver". I can assure you that after 27 years and probably over 10,000 prescriptions, I have not had one patient report back a case of liver toxicity or failure! Not one!
I have had a few allergies, but these are also very rare.
Obviously there are some people who should not be given this medication, liver abnormalities, hepatitis, cirrhosis, etc,, people with know allergy, certain autoimmune conditions and certain meds like Coumadin which can have their levels affected.
