September is Perimenopause Awareness Month.
We say that plainly because, for a long time, nobody said it to the women who needed to hear it.
She comes in for something else, a refill, a physical, and near the end of the visit, almost like she's confessing something, she mentions she hasn't felt like herself in a while, the exhaustion, the short fuse, the weight that moved on its own.
She's usually been sitting with it for a year or more before she says a word out loud.
Perimenopause can start in your late 30s. It has a name. It is treatable. And 'normal labs' is not where that conversation ends.
We have six weeks between now and World Menopause Day on October 18th, and we plan to spend every one of them talking about this.
💜 Save this. Share it with a woman who needs to hear it isn't just her.
