Food. Collaboration. Community. The Study is now open at The Pearl! ✨

Whether you're grabbing breakfast, meeting with colleagues, studying between classes or relaxing on the patio, The Study is a new place to connect in Charlotte's innovation district.

The Study offers a range of hot made-to-order breakfast dishes including omelets and buttermilk pancakes, as well as freshly baked pastries, a fruit and yogurt bar. Lunch includes rotating house made soups, a salad bar, burgers and sandwiches, and lots more.

Meet Taalib. From crafting memorable dining experiences to fueling big ideas across our innovation district, Taalib is helping make The Pearl feel like home.

As general manager for Restaurant Associates, Taalib leads the food and beverage operations behind The Study: Food Social, The Assembly Coffee Bar and catering experiences that bring together tenants, students, faculty, staff and community members from across The Pearl.

For Taalib, food is about more than what's on the menu. It's about creating spaces where people can connect, collaborate and build community.

“We're here to offer good food, but also hospitality and a fun place where you can congregate and socialize,” says Taalib.

Whether he's developing new menu offerings, supporting large tenant and community events or helping feed students exploring future health careers through STEAM programs, Taalib and his team take pride in serving every corner of The Pearl ecosystem.

After decades in the hospitality industry, he remains inspired by the team around him.

“I've been in the business for decades and I come to work every day, and this culinary staff teaches me and that is tremendous,” he says.

This summer, high schoolers from the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina visited The Pearl for a glimpse behind the scenes at careers in healthcare.

From getting hands-on with the latest imaging technology at the Siemens Healthineers Experience Center to connecting with Wake Forest University School of Medicine students about their journeys, the Lumbee students explored new possibilities and gained experiences that helped them envision their own futures in healthcare.
