Project HALO

Please help. Last night someone (I'm being nice) dumped a dog on our desolate gravel road. He just laid in the middle of the road waiting for his people to come back. He was still there this morning. I had no choice but to call Animal Control. They scanned him and of course he had no microchip or tag on his collar. He's very old and appears to have some sort of growth on him. He's being held at animal control in hopes that his owners come forward and reclaim him. I know that's not going to happen, so...he's going to be our first Hospice for Hounds candidate. BUT we really need your help. We're very low on resources at the moment and want to be able to give him the best of care. Please consider making a donation via our website at www.projecthalo.net. I've already named him Tank. I don't know why but that's what my heart is telling me ;)
Please help us help Tank. Thank you. (For some reason fb isn't giving me the option to post pics. I'll see if it'll let me in the comments section)

We adopted 14 year old Nonnie less than one year ago. I read her bio online while looking for a dog for a friend to adopt. We already had two babies, but I decided that Nonnie needed and deserved a lot of TLC until the end of her life. Even if she wasn't with us long.

Sadly, we put Nonnie down tonight at home with the help of Lap of Love. She ended her days on my bed where she loved to sleep, with lots of love and tears by the family who loved her dearly.

I adopted Nonnie to give her a gift, but it was she who gave me so much. We are beyond sad, but at some point we will contact Project Halo to adopt another dog who needs and deserves a great home.

Please say a little prayer for Nonnie tonight that she is in a better place.

With much appreciation for all that Project Halo does -

Norma Rae was our most recent Hospice 4 Hounds pup. She was found in South Charlotte and as you can see from her pictures she didn't have a very good life. We were able to help with her vet care and she was placed in a "forever" foster home. She passed away not long ago but she knew love and compassion at the end of her life...as all God's creatures should.
