Message me about fitness, health and anything about WELLNESS! You may have stumbled upon my page randomly or maybe someone told you to come check it out! Either way, I am SO glad you are here! My name is Lori Miggins (aka - The Organized Mom) and I am an "early retired” (ok I resigned when I had a baby) Special Education teacher, wife to an incredibly hard-working man, and a mommy of three beautiful children, oh yeah, and I'm over 40! From the time I was a little girl, I knew I wanted to be a MOMMY. It was dream to just stay home and be with my kids from day ONE. I also wanted to be a teacher, my love for children started early on in my life, so that’s what I set out to do! I taught for 9 years before I had my first baby and pretty much from the minute I fell in love with her, I couldn’t go back to work! After my 3rd child was born, I began to feel like I had no control over my health & fitness and I was struggling with GRIEF from losing my father suddenly. The stress and anxiety took over, and I was completely unfulfilled. I felt like I needed to do something for me. I wanted to gain control of me again and a little voice inside of me always told me to do something to contribute to this family, but I just didn’t know what that was. I still wanted to be able to stay at home with my kids, but I needed to figure out a way to do it all. So I joined a challenge group to give myself some me time and see if I could gain control of my health and fitness. Little did I know that the choice I would soon make would literally CHANGE my life in so many ways and I would be dealing with GRIEF yet again, from losing my mother. By simply taking care of me first, my grief is under control. With the proper support, nutrition and fitness tips, I am in control of me and now I am helping others do the same. I was certainly not looking for this or for Beachbody coaching, but it definitely found me! I have gone from being stay at home mom, to a Star Diamond Fitness Coach with Beachbody, a health & fitness company that has helped me take control of my health and fitness and find ME again! It helped me gain my confidence back, it gave me freedom that I never had before, and helped me find a PASSION that I didn’t know existed. And now I have a place to share my story and help others to change THEIR lives for the better! Today, I spend my time working from home, connecting with new people, and investing in amazing relationships with the people I work with…..my FRAMILY. And I do this all while not missing a moment with my three beautiful children. Exactly what I have always dreamt of…...living out my passions, but not missing a moment with my family! I now get to help others find their potential, live out their dreams and gain their confidence back too! I believe that every person deserves to LIVE a happy and healthy, FULFILLED life! If you can relate at all with any of my passions……Fitness, FAMILY, Freedom, Organizing, Chocolate (I’m addicted), kids, Coffee, the Beach, DISNEY, Fun Tanks, headbands and bracelets, and just good ole fashioned Fun in the sun…..well then, I'd LOVE to CHAT and get to know more about YOU! And maybe even share this opportunity that could CHANGE your life like it has mine! You can click "LIKE" now, or feel free to send me a friend request or even private message me!

:)

I love hearing from new friends! Be confident. Be passionate. Trust yourself. Believe in yourself. PERSEVERE through anything! Believe you can. And you will! XOXO, Lori

Some days we’re thriving. Some days we’re just trying to keep it together. And some days, honking at a 50-year-old woman in perimenopause is a decision you might want to rethink. 😂🚗

Listen, we’re all just trying to make it through the day with our hormones, our patience, and whatever sanity we have left.

If you’re in this season too, welcome to the club. Turn up the music, take a deep breath, and remember… we’re all just doing the best we can. 😜

Welcome to Perimenopause Lane. There are no guarantees!

I didn’t tell a single soul when I started this program 20 months ago… I honestly didn’t even think it would work for me.

At 48, knee-deep in perimenopause, I felt like nothing I was doing was really working the way it used to. Everything felt harder, slower, and honestly frustrating.

But I decided to quietly try something different.

In the first 6 weeks, I lost 7 pounds and several inches, and I kept thinking there was no way it would last. Even more surprising… I was eating more than I had been before.

What really changed though wasn’t just my body, it was the mental load lifting.

I wasn’t constantly second-guessing myself anymore:

I knew how to train without overdoing it, how to eat without overthinking it, and how to actually recover instead of just pushing all the time.

And that simplicity is what I’ve stayed with ever since.

Now it’s been 20 months, and I’m still doing the same foundation:

* 30 min strength training, 3x/week (upper, lower, total body)
* protein at every meal without obsessing
* rest days that I don’t feel guilty about
* balanced meals that actually fit real life

I’m 50 and STILL in perimenopause, and this is the first time in a long time I don’t feel like I’m starting over every Monday.

My Go-To Morning Routine for Faster Fat Loss as a 50 yr old (and why I don’t live on caffeine anymore) + 2 extra! 😆

I didn’t need another restart. I needed a reset of my habits!

In my mid-late 40s, I was doing everything that used to work…
and my body just stopped responding.

More tired.
More frustrated.
Starting over again and again. Perimenopause changed the rules and no one warns you.
This isn’t about pushing harder or restricting more.
It’s about working with your body again, especially your cortisol.

Before these habits, I was surviving on caffeine. Now? My energy, metabolism, hormones + cravings are finally in check 👇

1️⃣ Hydrate first thing (lemon + sea salt water) 🍋💦🧂
Balances blood sugar, supports digestion, hydration, keeps morning cortisol steady… and yes, helps you 💩

2️⃣ High-protein, GLP-1–friendly breakfast
No skipping. Be boring and eat the same things too! My daily LORI Bowl - eggs, guac, veggies, fruit + a healthy carb.
Keeps cortisol steady + energy up.
⭐️ Comment PROTEIN for my fave easy high-protein breakfasts.

3️⃣ Skip refined carbs early
Fewer sugar spikes = calmer cortisol = better fat burning.
⭐️ comment MEALS for a free 5 day guide

4️⃣ Morning movement + ☀️
Even 10 minutes helps calm cortisol, reset your rhythm + activate metabolism hormones.
⭐️ Comment MOVE to try a fave workout

5️⃣ Matcha > coffee 🍵
Steady energy, antioxidants, better focus—without the cortisol spike.
⭐️ Comment MATCHA for my fave

6️⃣ Hormone-supportive hydration before caffeine
Minerals + electrolytes to support adrenals, reduce inflammation + gentle detox.
My daily hormone reset.
⭐️ Comment RESET for exactly what I use.

7️⃣ Dry brushing (AM or PM)
Sounds wacko but works wonders to supporting cortisol balance, lymphatic drainage, circulation + puffiness.

✨ Extra love: red light therapy, sauna + deep breathing = huge to calm cortisol + boost metabolism

🧨 Comment PLAN for the 4 week plan I follow for fitness + nutrition + custom macros.

I really could give you 50 things I’ve learned at 50 😂

But if I had to narrow it down to ONE…

STOP FIGHTING YOUR BODY.

For years, I thought if my body wasn’t responding the way I wanted, I just needed to work harder.

Eat less.
Do more cardio.
Push harder.
Try another plan.

Then menopause changed the rules.

And I finally realized my body wasn’t broken.

I needed a different strategy.

More protein.
More strength.
More walking.
More recovery.
Better sleep.
Better hydration.
Better nutrition.
And actually paying attention to what my body was telling me.

I’m not trying to get my 30-year-old body back.

I’m 50, and I’m focused on becoming the strongest, healthiest version of THIS woman.

And honestly? I feel better, stronger and more confident than I did at 40.

So if you’re in your 40s or 50s and wondering why the things that used to work suddenly aren’t working anymore…

You’re not broken.

The rules changed.

And your strategy may need to change, too. 💙

Not to be overly dramatic… but this breakfast has been on repeat in my house for over a year. 💙

I literally run into the kitchen excited to make it every morning… and now my daughters ask for it too. 😂

Here’s what I’ve learned: healthy eating doesn’t have to mean constantly chasing new recipes.

The easier you make it, the more consistent you’ll be.

One of the biggest shifts I made in my late 40s wasn’t eating “cleaner.”

It was finally eating ENOUGH protein, especially as my first meal of the day.

I used to think adding a little protein here and there was enough…

It wasn’t.

Now I pair this breakfast with my clear protein + creatine drink, making it easy to get 30 to 40 grams of protein + 5 grams of creatine in my first meal.

And that simple shift changed everything.

✨ Fewer cravings
✨ Less snacking
✨ Steadier energy
✨ More strength
✨ Supporting and building lean muscle

During perimenopause and menopause, protein becomes even more important. It helps support blood sugar balance, muscle, metabolism, and keeping your body strong as you age.

And creatine isn’t just for athletes. It supports strength, recovery, brain health, and longevity too.

And no… breakfast doesn’t have to be boring or a plate of dry chicken at 7 AM. 🤭

This bowl is one of my favorites because it’s packed with protein, healthy fats, quality carbs, and fiber.

⬇️ Recipe:

🥚 Eggs + extra egg whites + cottage cheese
🍠 Sweet potato
🥒 Zucchini
🥑 Avocado
🥜 Peanut butter
🥝 Fresh fruit of choice

Simple. Delicious. Filling. And good enough that I’ve happily eaten it for over a year.

I’ve discovered the secret to keeping your daughter’s room clean…Send them to college 💯 effective! But I miss the mess!

I really don’t believe in violence but you know just in case….

09/30/2026

Tomorrow is October.

The month I lost my mom.

And somehow, 11 years later, I still have moments where my brain goes, this isn’t fair.

I wasn’t done being her daughter.

I wasn’t done calling her.
I wasn’t done asking her questions.
I wasn’t done having her here.

And I’ve learned that it’s in the quiet moments when it hits me the hardest. In the sauna. Driving in the car. In the shower. Anywhere my mind has enough space to wander.

Anniversaries are hard.
Dates are hard.
October is hard.

But the truth is… every single day can be hard when you lose someone you weren’t ready to live without.

So if this time of year feels a little heavier for you too, I see you.

Please know, you don’t have to carry your grief alone. I’m here with you. 🤍

Nobody warned me that watching them become exactly who I raised them to be would make me miss the little versions of them this fu***ng much. 🥹

Like, go chase your dreams. Become your own person. Build a life you love.

But also… can you please come home, stop growing, and let me hold the little version of you for just five more minutes?

Motherhood is the weirdest mix of being so damn proud and wishing you could go back for just one day. 💙

Everyone is talking about supplements… but your hormones need FOOD too. 👏🏼

If you’re 40+, here are some of the foods and nutrients I want you thinking about more often:

🥩 30–40g of protein per meal
Helps support muscle, satiety and steadier blood sugar throughout the day.

🥦 Cruciferous veggies
Broccoli, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, cabbage… these are nutrient powerhouses and contain compounds involved in estrogen metabolism.

🫐 Berries + colorful produce
Packed with antioxidants and polyphenols that support overall health and help protect your cells from oxidative stress.

🥑 Quality fats
Think avocado, olive oil, eggs, nuts, seeds and fatty fish. Dietary fats provide essential fatty acids and support overall hormone health.

🌱 Fiber: aim for 25–35g/day
Fiber supports digestive health and healthy elimination of hormones your body has already used.

And no, this doesn’t mean you need a perfect diet.

It means that before constantly adding MORE things to your supplement cabinet, take a look at what you’re giving your body through food every single day.

No HRT. No peptides. Just food doing its job. 🥑🥦🍳

Food + strength training + movement + sleep + targeted support can all have a place in a hormone-supportive routine.

Save this for your next grocery trip. 🛒
