Ovaries and hormones matter even when you’re not trying to get pregnant.
Infertility is the SYMPTOM of another issue, and it’s possible that the other issue is affecting your health throughout your life—not just when you’re trying to conceive.
For example, PMOS gets classified as a reproductive health issue because it often gets diagnosed when a woman is TTC (or it becomes more acutely problematic when you are TTC), BUT the underlying issues that are contributing to the infertility during her reproductive years are existing and affecting other aspects of her health at all other points in her life.
Insulin resistance, heart and blood vessel health, inflammation, metabolic issues that are contributing to AND resulting from uncontrolled PMOS are affecting your whole body your whole life.
If we haven’t met yet, I’m Catherine Needham. I’ve been a functional medicine pharmacist for 12 years, and I faced unexplained infertility beginning in 2014.
So my professional and personal lives collided, and I was determined to find the cause of my infertility for myself.
Fast forward a few years, I now have 4 kids, a board certification in metabolic medicine, and a practice where I help women build healthy cycles so they can conceive on their own terms—because I know what it’s like to feel like everything that SHOULD have worked HASN’T.
