Juneteenth is a day of reflection, remembrance, and rejoicing. It's a time to honor the resilience, strength, and contributions of the African American community throughout history. It serves as a reminder of the progress that has been made and the work that still lies ahead in achieving true equality and justice for all.

We encourage everyone to participate in local events, support Black-owned businesses, and engage in meaningful conversations about our history and future.

ARN offices are closed today, Wednesday, June 19, in observance of Juneteenth.

Alzheimer's Awareness Month is the perfect time to shine a spotlight on the challenges faced by those living with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias, as well as their caregivers and rehabilitation nurses.💜

Rehabilitation nurses often work with patients who have Alzheimer's or dementia, providing specialized care that focuses on maintaining and improving their quality of life, promoting independence, and managing symptoms.

Take a moment this month to thank a rehab nurse working with patients living with Alzheimer's disease.

As a rehabilitation nurse, you can provide care and support to anyone who has experienced a brain injury, or is living with a chronic neurological condition like ALS or multiple sclerosis.

The third week of May is established as Neurosciences Week, to recognize nurses that care for those types of patients, while also providing support to their families and caregivers throughout the rehabilitation process. Rehab nurses play a crucial role in helping those patients regain, achieve, and maintain their independence.

If you're interested in advancing the science and practice of neuroscience, check out the ARN and Agnes Marshall Walker Foundation Research Grant:https://rehabnurse.org/uploads/about/2024_ARN_and_AMWF_RFA_Application_Form.pdf where you can sumbit your very own research proposal.
