10/26/2026
The first 10 negotiated Part D prices took effect in January 2026, and 15 more drugs will join in 2027. For independent pharmacies, the bigger question is what this means for day-to-day operations and cash flow.
The Medicare Transaction Facilitator (MTF) is how pricing information and manufacturer refunds are exchanged. A few questions worth asking:
✅ Are we enrolled in the MTF Data Module with current information?
✅ Do we know how manufacturer refunds are processed and when to expect payment?
✅ Who is reconciling those payments: us, our PSAO, or someone else?
✅ Do we have a process for catching missing payments or discrepancies?
Even when a partner handles part of the process, knowing where your money is and when to expect it isn’t just good compliance. It’s good business.
