We want to share it with everyone we know....
PLEASE REPOST this so that every Vietnam Vet knows that they have benefits they don't know about!
If they served in Vietnam from 69-73, the VA assumes they were exposed to Agent Orange. Being exposed to this has a LONG list of medical conditions now associated with that exposure. Heart issues, lung issues, diabetes, Parkinson's and cancer-even prostate and so many more things. Basically if you are sick with anything check with the VA to see if it's on the list.
While the vet is fighting/living with the medical issue, they are paid $2000 per month. If they pass away from that issue, a surviving spouse will receive $1,200 per month.
Sadly the government can't spend money to let our vets know this, so it's up to us to let them all know!
Most counties have VA offices that will help get the papers done for free.
