Pate Rehabilitation Pate Rehabilitation offers comprehensive brain injury and stroke treatment in centers across the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. Worth and Anna, TX. Worth and Anna.

Our mission is to serve persons with brain injuries, their families, and the community by providing professional services, support, and education focused on returning injured individuals to their highest possible level of independence and quality of life. Pate provides the only CARF accredited Stroke Specialty Program for rehabilitation in North Texas. Pate's program is evidence based, and highly customized to each person we serve. We emphasize neuropsychology for deeper understanding of injuries and their effects on the whole person, cognitively, physical and emotionally. Our therapies include physical, occupational, speech and language, vocational, aquatic, equine and animal assisted, counseling, biofeedback and more. We treat day patients, inpatients and provide a welcoming, supported living home. Pate's treatment system is unique, and focuses on preparing patients to return to the real world, not a quiet clinic floor. Our exclusive PERPOS model allows us to assess and measure tolerance for distraction and structure and create a therapeutic environment that mimics conditions in the real world. The real world requires handling a lot of distractions. We focus on increasing strength to reduce the need for structure which is a key feature of independence. Pate is committed to advancing care for brain injuries and our scientists conduct ongoing research that keeps our program on the cutting edge. Treatment Centers are located in:
Dallas, Watauga/Ft. Residential Centers are located in:
Irving, Ft.

Happy NDEAM! The theme for National Disability Employment Awareness Month 2026 is “Celebrating Value and Talent.” Each October, we celebrate NDEAM to recognize the many contributions that people with disabilities, including those with mental health conditions and other nonobvious disabilities, make to America’s workplaces and economy.

In 1988, Congress designated the commemoration as NDEAM, which then evolved to acknowledge the importance of increasing employment opportunities for people with disabilities, including those with mental health conditions and other nonobvious disabilities.

Patient-Centered Care Awareness Month is observed to highlight the importance of prioritizing patients' needs, values, and preferences in healthcare delivery. The month serves to recognize the progress made in achieving patient-centered care and to inspire further action by encouraging healthcare providers and organizations to form partnerships with patients and their families for better health outcomes. Patient-centered care creates positive impressions and satisfying experiences, but, beyond that, it improves lives.

This month, we would like to take the opportunity to highlight and congratulate Meredith Emmons on her 10-year anniversary!

As a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) and the Lead SLP in Austin, TX, Home and Community, Meredith’s impact reaches far beyond a single clinic. From guiding new hire SLPs, to stepping up to lead Electronic Medical Record (EMR) training, freeing up critical onboarding time for leadership, she is a true pillar of support. Meredith also serves as a Clinical Coordinator, gracefully managing complex cases with her signature blend of high-level expertise and a compassionate touch. Known as our local Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) expert and advisor, she routinely enriches our team's skills through quarterly training on topics like teach-back methods and diabetes management.

Meredith says, “I am passionate about person-centered care, love learning new things, and still find speech therapy really interesting and rewarding."

Outside of work Meredith loves to spend her time outdoors, traveling, laughing, reading, and spending time with friends and family. She has two kids who continuously make her laugh and keep her on her toes, and an incredible husband of 19 years to share it with.

Executive Director Nicole Capell says, “We feel very fortunate to have Meredith as a part of the Austin team.”

Please join us in congratulating Meredith and thanking her for the continued dedication to our patients and to RWW!

National HR Generalist Jennifer Blackwelder stated, "I enjoy working for RWW as an HR because even though we are not out there in the day-to-day work at locations, we still make a difference. HR helps behind the scenes and ensures daily tasks run smoothly, that hiring processes are followed, and that each employee is compliant with company and state guidelines. On a personal note, I enjoy specifically working for RWW because I have a family member with a neuro disability and while I am not a therapist assisting with tasks, this allows me to feel as if I contribute to their care in some small way, too."

Thank you for your hard work, dedication, and most of all, for the impact you have on our employees!

September is World Alzheimer’s Month and World Alzheimer's Day is celebrated September 21. Both are annual international events to raise awareness and challenge stigma surrounding Alzheimer’s and dementia. Globally, there is thought to be poor understanding and a great deal of stigma surrounding dementia. With FDA-approved treatments that could slow the progression of the disease for those living with early Alzheimer’s, we're in a historic era in our fight.
