See below for some recent guidance from the SCHD on the next progression estimations for the COVID-19 Vaccine.
We will continue to share information as it becomes available and look forward to vaccinating our patients as soon as we are able when future phases are released!
Iowa’s Infectious Disease Advisory Council released its Phase 1B guidance. Phase 1B is NOT expected to begin until it is announced by the Iowa Department of Public Health (likely no later than February 1). Due to the limited vaccine supply, the State of Iowa will not be making changes to the age criteria for Phase 1B set by IDAC at this time.
Reminder: we are still in Phase 1A: healthcare workers + long-term care residents.
Do you have questions regarding the COVID-19 vaccine? Please be assured that your team at Main at Locust Pharmacy & Medical Supplies will be providing updates AS SOON as we have more information. For now, please be aware that vaccinations for the general public HAVE NOT been released and are not expected to be allocated any time in December. Hopefully January or February will be the month, fingers crossed!

Also Lisa isn't just a pharmacist she also received a culinary degree from Scott Community College while working at the pharmacy. Lisa has worked for Main at Locust for over 20 years and is originally from Wisconsin. Lisa enjoys horseback riding, gardening, reading, and spending time with her family. Pharmacist spotlight for our newest pharmacist Brooke Weber:
Brooke lives in Long Grove with her husband and daughter, Emilia. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, traveling and spending time outdoors with her family and two dogs, Larry & Lambeau.
Brooke worked in a pharmacy as a clerk in high school and learned to love the profession and helping people in need. She worked as a clerk for 2 years and a certified pharmacy technician for 4 years prior to starting pharmacy school at the University of Iowa. During her last year as a student pharmacist, Brooke joined the team at Main at Locust for a clinical rotation and loved connecting with our patients and providing clinical services here in the Quad Cities. Prior to officially joining the Main at Locust team as a pharmacist, Brooke completed a PGY1 Residency at MercyOne in Dubuque. Her favorite part about her job is the long-term connections she has made with her patients and working with their physicians to provide the highest level of inter-professional care possible.
Brooke's professional interests include long-term care pharmacy, ambulatory care pharmacy and working with underserved populations. She is passionate about advocacy in the profession and advancing clinical services in pharmacies to provide outstanding patient care. Brooke loves precepting students and teaching to promote the future of the profession of pharmacy. She looks forward to serving the patients of Main at Locust for many years to come!

Thank you to the pharmacists at Main at Locust Pharmacy for compounding medicine for Miss Wickett. At 17 she was trembling with pain that was not controlled on first line veterinary medication . Now, with the right dose of supplemental pain medication she is back to her cheerful, tail wagging self.
