Paper Plate Spiderwebs
To finish off our 2020 Noogiefest, here is a video of one of our amazing volunteers showing you how to make a spiderweb with a paper plate and some string! If you picked up a goodie bag last weekend, you have all the materials you need in there. If not, grab a paper plate, some string, and a couple plastic spiders and you’re ready to go!

Paper Bag Monster Puppets
Here’s a video of one of our Gilda’s Club interns showing you how to make paper bag monster puppets! If you picked up a goodie bag for your kids, there are brown paper bags, construction paper, and glue sticks included. If you don’t have a goodie bag, all you need to complete this project is a brown paper bag and fun things to decorate: markers, construction paper, etc.

Jodie Kavensky, founder and CEO of NormaLeah Ovarian Cancer Initiative was here to talk about ovarian cancer and Kelly Craft, Program Manager at Gilda's Club Quad Cities spoke about Cancer Support Community's Cancer Experience Registry.

The Many Faces of Grief
On July 28, 2020, our social work intern Theresa O’Keefe led a presentation and discussion about the 5 stages of grief and how they can appear from a wide variety of life changes. Loss of a loved one, personal illness or injury, divorce, or adjustment in job status are among the events that can spark waves of grief. Theresa talked about different types of grief, and how the five stages can apply to them.

Yoga for Cancer Survivors 7-20-2020
We recorded Monday's yoga4cancer class.
Yoga for Cancer Survivors is a special class that integrates the breath with body awareness. It also:
- builds strength & flexibility in safe ways
- stimulates your immune system & builds bone
density
- detoxifies the body and cultivates a sense of
well-being
- creates a sense of community (practice with
other survivors)
- empowers participants to take control &
enhance their lives
Family-Building Series: Kid Friendly Recipe
